Stopped at CVS and picked up a chicken pot pie, a roll of saltines, Hostess chocolate donuts, Coke Zero.
Tossed the pie inside the microwave, scarfed it down, then started handicapping the upcoming Preakness.
Post draw this evening but things are cut n'dried even if Baffert's ass is in a sling. Cookin' the books Bob,
gonna get caught sooner or later.

^^^Gumbo's a scarce commodity around Chicago. I have to hunt and nail it down; then, it disappears
off a backstretch café menu, and the prowl begins again. Some canned gumbo grub will do until I find the
real thing cooking atop some stove somewhere around town. Covid's upended everything, even Gumbo....
but I search the world for pecan coffee cake, creamy chicken salad, and gumbo. Real gumbo.

Most any seafood establishment down here has it on the menu, so even if it's not homemade, its easy enough to come by that the can can usually be avoided, but I wouldn't turn my nose up to that, even. Any port in a storm. I had bought a package of pecan cookies to savor post gumbo, but my kids were over so those vanished before I could grab a second one. A pity, they'd have been delicious with the rye my girlfriend brought back from New Orleans earlier in the week.

Tonight I got home from work in time to mow the lawn, but was too tired to cook afterward so I picked up a couple of pizzas. One cheese and one with bacon. Again the kids made short work of the groceries.
