What's for Dinner?

I understand. I was home alone last night and had peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwiches for dinner chased down by several gingerbread cookies with a glass of milk on the side.

Marshmallow fluff I've never had-yet. But the other nite I did chase the peanut butter sandwich
with a chocolate chip cookie and Coke Zero. Time for me to fess up, I am a junk food junkie.

I'm a reforming (not reformed) one. Twenty years ago, it would have been a Coke for me too, but now I try to have milk instead.

The marshmallow fluff makes sense considering the time of year.

Roast and potatoes. Slow cooked together. The house smelled like magic. It tasted even better.

A chuck roast, potatoes, onion, carrots, can gravy make a great stew. I let it simmer all day long.
Some French or Italian bread, vino make the meal.

Had to look it up and it sounds pretty good to me.

A chuck roast, potatoes, onion, carrots, can gravy make a great stew. I let it simmer all day long.
Some French or Italian bread, vino make the meal.

We have made many a stew along these lines. Simmering all day or at least most of it was magical. Day Two was even better.

It was a toss up of either going with our tradition of Sunday night curry or Paella. Discovered we are out of arborio rice so Aloo Gobi on basmati it is.

Ditto. Home made thin crust cheese. And a salad with Thousand Isle dressing.
...but the M&M peanuts have mysteriously disappeared. So have the chocolate chips.
I suspect its an inside job and I issued the search warrant myself.

Shopped at Costco today and they had enameled Cast Iron Dutch Ovens. Two sizes in a box for $50US. I have long wanted one but the LeCreuset on sale are $225 cheapest for one. So we bought dutch ovens as our Christmas present. Cooked some pork loin in it tonight, pulled it apart and we had our version of Greek gyros in home made pita bread. For Christmas dinner I plan to use it again with short ribs.....my new favourite kitchen tool!

Visited my brother for dinner tonight. He had smoked a brisket over the weekend, and today he cut up what was left and put it in chili.

Home made potato salad and fresh Horse-Bockwurst from today’s farmers market.

Tortellini in a marinara sauce with extra garlic garlic bread. Very content afterwards. Life is good.

Spaghetti, Contadina sauce, ground turkey; hopefully with garlic bread.

Dunno about any vino. Love some Lancers or Greek Domestica.
A plebian palate mine is, so, a Coke Zero slightly chilled will also do.
