What's for Dinner?

Raided the fridge last night and found leftover ribs and some deli turkey, a can of diet Pepsi.
Came this close to ordering a pizza but didn't squeeze the trigger.
Pizza tonite, and Chicago v San Diego at 9.10 CST. The games over the last two nites have lasted three hours,
with post game analysis/other sports talk, a couple hours sleep and 04.00 reveille. No five mile run though.:D

Any game that runs less than 3 1/2 hours is a now a "fast" game.

Baseball is like fine wine that should be sipped, not a fast dog-and-a-beer. ;)

So my dirty secret is I record the games and start watching them about an hour and a half after they start (or, sometimes, the next day, but, of course, that requires some careful sports news avoidance).

I fast forward through all the commercials, but watch everything else and get through most games in 2ish hours this way.

Baseball is a radio catch for me (67*AM The Score); permitting simultaneous reading unless I absolutely need to bar catch a knock-down dragout brawl like last season's Cubs vs Nats fight. An outstanding brawl.:)

I need spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, some Lancers' rose. But will probably settle for domestic Genoa
salami, sliced Virginia ham, and freshly cut bologna with peanut butter on rye. :) Diet Dr Pepper.
Baseball is winding down and the Cubs are seemingly stuck in first gear.:(

The girls are up and down the East coast this week and left to my own devices, I ventured a couple of miles away from home yesterday afternoon to the sprawling metropolis of downtown Madison, AL and visited the Black Bear Brewing Co. for Happy Hour. Finished it with their 'Taproom Burger'. What's not seen well under the hand made potato bun is about 10 oz. of locally sourced grass fed beef, cheddar, BACON, lettuce, tomato, onion, spicy verde salsa and all topped with a fried egg.

I had BURGER KING for dinner last night, it was terrible!

they served me an old hamburger, it was flat, cold, dry, not freshly made, it looked like the WHAMMY BURGER from FALLING DOWN

Last night I had pan-seared salmon, stewed zucchini and tomatoes, and smashed garlic new potatoes.

Tonight my kids are coming over for dinner and were either getting some pizzas or Chinese take out. Maybe both.

Stick to the tried-and-true: McDonald's quarter pounder and you can't go wrong. Toss in some fries and a frozen Coke.;)
