Chicken kabobs and ice cream cake for my daughter's birthday.

Happy Birthday to your daughter!

I've had a rough couple of days, so I've not been posting much. Monday I ended up taking the kids that were home with eldest boy and myself to get burgers, made the ham and potato casserole on Tuesday, and yesterday I made goulash. Not sure what I'm making tonight, but I think it will be breakfast nachos.

Thanks...and sorry to hear about the rough week. Hope the weekend is better

Thank you! Me too :)

Met my folks with the kids to get frozen custard (end of the school year tradition), so no one was hungry for dinner :)

My parents were not "attend school events" parents - my dad never once came to any of my schools and my mom didn't participate in events, but once in a blue moon she would pick me up if something came up like I had a dentist appointment. For whatever crazy reason, the school let out a few hours early on the last day of the year, but the buses didn't run until regular time so my mom, most years, would come by, pick me up and we'd go to Carvel for ice-cream - it wasn't every year, but kinda a tradition.

I love Carvel. Surprisingly we used to have one here, but no longer :( That is strange that school let out early, but buses ran regular time!

Going out to a local BBQ place.

To be fair - and you jarred my memory - I think the grammar school let out earlier than the middle school, which is why the buses had to wait.

As to Carvel - haven't been to one in decades, but used to love the soft serve vanilla with some sort of hard shell strawberry coating you could get on it.
