Oreo cake you say, hmm, exactly what is that (asks this life-long Oreo fan)?
Try this: take a pan, any size you wish. Take Oreos, dip in milk, and lay them in the pan. Put down a layer of Cool Whip. Repeat until the pan is full. Poo in the fridge overnight. We call this Oreo Stuff.

Tonight is Honey Garlic chicken with broccoli over rice. I don't eat chicken so no idea what I'll be eating.

That sounds pretty tasty, although normally a pack of Oreos doesn't last long enough at my house to involve them in any actual recipes.

I have addressed that specific problem by using the Powell Doctrine of overwhelming force - I buy a lot of packages of Oreos at one time and often.

I have a bunch of kids. If I buy a lot at once, they will eat a lot at once.

And since Oreos are back on topic....I don't know if there are Krispy Kreme donut shops up your way (they're a staple down here) but I took the kids there over the weekend and enjoyed some Oreo donuts. They were basically chocolate iced cream filled donuts with crushed up Oreos mixed in the filling and sprinkled on top. They were borderline a little too much for me, but my kids went through a dozen of them (and most of a second dozen of plain ones) in about 8 seconds.

When I was a young teenager, I could have done the same as your kids.

There are a couple of Krispy Kremes in NYC, but none near me. That said, I get down to one occasionally (love the vanilla creme filled one) and will look for the Oreo one next time.

The vanilla creme filled ones are the best!

I am required to make the Oreo Stuff for every holiday. I buy the Oreos and hide them. lol! I'm actually not an Oreo fan, so they are safe from me!

I tried a bite of one of those Oreo donuts once. Way too sweet for me. Put the plain glazed, when it's hot? Oh!!! So good!

On a side note...that should have read "put in the fridge overnight"

I was going to say you lost me at "poo in the fridge". For starters, there is no way I'd fit...

:) When I noticed the error, a similar thought crossed my mind!

Tonight will be pork roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, and corn
That's almost exactly what we had at my house last night.... only difference was rice instead of mashed potatoes

We had rice last night with the falafel and the night before with honey garlic chicken. I'm a little riced out. lol!

Good to have Vera back around here making me hungry.
Thank you! That's so sweet of you to say!

I've had an extremely long day, but thankfully I thought ahead and put dinner in the crock pot for the kids. It was a new to us recipe and they all (except the eldest), enjoyed it. It was a turkey and dressing casserole. Eldest child does not like dressing. I ended up having a snack size bag of cashews, a Milky Way Midnight, and a cherry Slurpee.

Went out to one of the local Ethiopian restaurants. I had misir wot (spicy stewed lentils) and injira, a kind of sourdough flatbread. Also a spinach dish I don't remember the name of.
