I made something new to me last night, but something Hubby grew up eating all the time. Smothered steak, onion gravy, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots.

Nope, native Washingtonian. I'm just dynamite in the kitchen! (And I basically made up the recipe. :D ) You can imagine how excited he is for the leftovers I packed in his lunch today.

Went to pick my kids up from their grandma's and she had made dinner, so of course I had to eat it. Strangely enough, same thing I had last night, mac&cheese and green beans...but she also had made salmon patties to go with them.

And the macaronis were shaped like Sponge Bob characters.

Haven't posted in this thread for an age, since Mr Powers was still with us.

I've always liked this thread and I've gotten a lot of ideas for dinner from the members here.

Tonight it was cod cooked nitsuke way with rice, kombu salad and miso soup. Being in Norway with all the wonderful cheap fish we cook fish nitsuke around two to three times a week for dinner. The kids love it so it's a win-win.

Slow cooked pork ribs with spicy-sweet Hoisin glaze (low sodium soy sauce, ginger, garlic, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and sweet chili paste doctored up store bought Hoisin), jasmine rice, steamed broccoli.

I love Sunday night dinner. I make something that takes all afternoon to cook and it always smells so good!

It's been a while, but my wife busted out a Thai beef noodle soup you wouldn't believe. Also, similar to the traditional Thai beef salad but her own concoction of flavoring, outfrigginstanding. Please try to overlook the plastic Winnie the Pooh dinnerware.
