I'm 1/4 Hungarian and the (simple) family recipe has been passed down through a few generations. The "dumplings" are similar to spaetzle, just a few ingredients and then spoonfuls dumped into boiling water.

Tonight......macaroni noodles with ground beef and spaghetti sauce, leftover turnip greens and jalapeño cornbread.

Grilled pork chops (again, from a pig we used to know down the road), grilled okra, pan-fried apples (from our own tree) and pan-fried sweet potatoes. Oh, and a cannoli that the neighbor made.

A roast beef and cheddar from Arby's, some chips and hummus, a few pbrs, and a piece of caramel pecan cake that came from the day old bread store.

It is just too darn hot , so some breakfast in the evening, quick stuff.
French toast with cinnamon vanilla and covered with powder sugar.
and some vanilla ice cream drizzled with espresso liqueur
and heck we all of my heritage have some cheese with the coffee.
Or just cheese alone , oh wait there is some cheese crumb cake
