Very good but meatloaf with ketchup, mashed with gravy hits a home run. Bases loaded, grand slam.
And the opposing pitcher gets pulled by a real pissed manager.

Precisely what we did last night - fried ham steaks, scrambled eggs with goat cheese, home fries and white wine. The wine is not normally part of our breakfast...

An omelette for dinner with a little side salad, a few slices of baguette, and a glass of white wine is a perfect thing. Makes a Wednesday evening feel special, and it takes hardly any work.

Extra thick homemade hamburgers topped with pepper jack cheese, guacamole, and sriracha sauce (only Huy Fong will do) and some tater tots on the side

Tonight it’s going to be a nice three pound bottom sirloin flap in red wine jus, not finally decided about fixings yet.

Leftover Chinese takeout. Somehow it is spicier the second time around.

Similar with many stews, taste often better next day, when all aromas had time to interfuse and to react.

Super Bowl Sunday night ground turkey meatloaf and potatoes home run.
No dawg in the fight but rootin for Chiefs.

The Chicago Cubs are doing the scorched earth rebuild routine. Front office payroll jettison,
Darvish trade tipped the hand in this shirtfront poker game. Lester ditto. Looking to sell Bryant
off third base pronto. The World Series window slammed shut last season, massive revenue loss,
next season a predictable busted flush. And then there is the bad news Bears. No Super Bowl for
the next year, of course, QB and other stuff. And we coulda had Mahomes. But all open ? with Coach Nagy,
lousy clock manager, tight rein QB, fancy foolish plays. Crap shoot roll the dice coaching doesn't cut it.

Leftover spaghetti, sauce with ground turkey. Garlic bread. I drank Coke Zero, not wine. Dunno.
My Irish peasant palate easily sated. And I never complain or pass up home cooking.
A free feed is always a bachelor's delight.

Banana Foster is a dessert dish. It's bananas cooked in butter with brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and bourbon served over vanilla ice cream. Bananas weren't in the gumbo, only smoked sausage and alligator. It was farm raised gator. You can buy it in the grocery stores around here.
