In observance of national pancake day, known as Fat Tuesday, a.k.a. Mardis Gras, down here, I cooked up a pot of shrimp creole with sausage.

Served up over a plate of rice.
Warmed up for and washed down with a couple of hurricanes.

Will Ferrell isn't funny. He's an uncomedian.

He's okay, but getting old.
John C. Reilly on the other hand, is a really good actor. I've seen him in a few films (not associated with Ferrell) and he's very talented.

Not sure what I have on the menu tonight.
Sunday through last night were alternates of the same meals.
Pizza, chili, pizza, chili.
Probably tacos...

Here's an interesting idea! I found this blog where the author buys old recipe boxes from the 40s through the 60s and cook the food according to the old recipe. I remember a lot of these dishes from my childhood. Part of the fun is seeing what is the next dish or what other thing is in the box. I'm not a big food person but this is really fascinating, especially the older units of measure. Here's the link: http://recipearcheology.blogspot.com/
