Enchiladas and refried beans topped with a couple of fried eggs and an ice cold St. Pauli Girl.

Happy New Year everyone!

Well done dh66.

We had Mimosas to start (the one of two days a year we'll have a drink at home for breakfast - my birthday is the other) to ring in the new year.

After that some what hifalutin start, it was back to our regularly scheduled food program at the Fading Fast's, i.e., all downhill. I had a Kaiser roll with leftover pesto pasta warmed up on top as a kinda open faced sandwich and my girlfriend had leftover pizza. Yep, you can take the kid out of Jersey, but not Jersey out of the kid.

But for a moment or two, as we sipped our Mimosas and wished each other a happy New Year (and, then, called our parents to wish them as well), it felt very civil.

Canned biscuits and blackberry jam. I got into the sailor jerry a little more than I'd planned to last night and didn't feel up to cooking much this morning.

That Sailor Jerry has a lot to answer for.
We dined out for breakfast, had the full works. Bacon, eggs, beans, sausages, hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes & toast. Someone told us of a place near Portsmouth, where, once a month, on a Sunday morning, the Truck Stop is turned into a kind of 50's American style diner. There's a DJ playing 50's rock 'n' roll and some of the seats have been pushed back to form a small dance floor. We were in our element. Mind you, when we arrived and saw the place, I was convinced that we had the wrong address. From the outside it looked a dump, rain filled pot holes for a car park and a shabby looking cabin as the venue. So glad I didn't judge the book by the cover.
