I would encourage you to read this blog. More specifically, I would encourage you to read the conversations that are below each episode review. Some of them were lost in a crash, but most are there. I started reading it almost from the beginning, and years later, at the end, I was still blown away by how much detail and history was shared in those user conversations. Not a single stone or fiber was left unturned by the user group there. You can enjoy the show without them, but I found all that richness and information enhanced my experience and appreciation of the show several Xs more. The show was dense with nuance and creativity beyond what any one person could notice on their own. http://www.lippsisters.com/category/mad-men/

Thank you, Nr. Shackleton! It's much appreciated - like reading liner notes on an LP, there'll be more to appreciate with the creative process. It certainly is a very rich show and this will help no end.
Last night we saw the episode with the John Deere mower in the office. As Mad Men is an office drama without a lot of overt drama (compared to say Damages - which is also superb), we weren't expecting that at all!
Cheers!

Boy, I wish I was watching season 3 of Mad Men for the first time! The season's final run of episodes are some of the series' greatest.

While Mad Men was wonderful right out of the box and remained so up until the end, having watched the series multiple times now, I firmly believe that it peaked in seasons 3 through 5. There's nothing wrong with seasons 1, 2, 6, or 7... but there's a sense of continuous improvement and surprise in the middle seasons that's really something special. (The show's single best episode is probably season 4's "The Suitcase" - I'm still annoyed that Hamm and Moss didn't win Emmys for it!)

And Basket of Kisses is an outstanding resource. I sometimes also post over there as Doctor Strange.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead.
Bit of a Zombie fest this isn't it. Is this based on some kind of shoot em up arcade game?
Saw first episode but could not access second or any more. Ends with police officer hiding in tank with zombies eating his horse
Kill 1st Zombie get gun.
Kill more Zombies get more guns.
Find car for escape. Go too fast run out of gas get got by Zombies, go too slow get got by Zombies, guess correct speed get further away.
Fun but can it really hold up to 6 series?

Da Vinci's Demon season 3 ep10
hmm some key characters ended, I wonder where the saga would turn for the next season.

Hemlock Grove final season (last three episodes)
and I'm still bummed by the last season of Hemlock Grove, all went south way too fast, looked like unplanned cancellation of the show.

That's kinda' the point. It's about people trying to survive after a plague of some sort has turned most of Earth's population into zombies.

In my opinion, no. I barely made it through the first two seasons/series' before I decided I'd rather have root canal without anesthetic than watch another episode. I like a good zombie story, as my username implies, but The Walking Dead didn't do it for me.

The Curse Of Oak Island. I know, I know, I am just as ashamed of my self as all of you are! I know there is nothing down there, but, I have to see!

having watched the series multiple times now
For me, this is key. I've probably watched the entire series 6-8 times now (I used to watch every episode once as it aired, again after I read the Basket of Kisses conversations, and then again on the Saturday before the new episode). There have been several great shows around the same time and since, but where Mad Men smokes them is in the repeat viewings. They continue to amaze, surprise, and enlighten view after view after view. Every single time I would walk away with a new perspective on the show, myself, or something otherwise substantial. Many of those said other shows completely fell apart upon a second viewing. I won't revise my enjoyment of their first viewings, but repeated viewings revealed how much of a dud they truly were. I'll be watching Mad Men in twenty years, and while those other shows had their time, it was extremely shortlived and only in the moment. To me, this matters a lot.

Supernatural. Great episode. Next week's looks to be hilarious. I love how the show has a mixture of both serious and funny episodes every season.

Finished season one of "The Flash", tweener popcorn I know but it's tasty popcorn. I also love the tie-ins and cross-overs from "The Arrow". I'd like to get caught up on the current season but I'm not sure I can, even with "on demand".

Reminded me a lot of the game House of the Dead. Wish I had the full size screen for the arcade version.
Next up for Zombies is Dead Snow 2. I thought Dead Snow had a great theme but was a bit rubbish, lost SS regiment come back to life and of course......Teenagers. Not seen it yet but those Boys in Black are on the rampage again looking for their lost gold;)
