What was the last TV show you watched?

I'm currently in the middle of the first season of Breaking Bad - the AMC show where the dad from Malcolm in the Middle cooks meth. Great stuff.

Classic Car Chasers, on HD Theater channel. This ep told the story of John W. Straus' 1938 Bugatti. Mr. Straus, the Macy*s store scion, garaged it in '62 due to mechanical problems, and in 2007 it became a legendary "barn find."

Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead. Fairly entertaining. I thought The Doctor was going to get a new girl, but with the new Doctor looming around the corner I wasn't surprised when they parted ways.

Then it was two episodes of Three Sheets on the Fine Living Network. What a fantastic job he has.

Finally finished off Death Note on Cartoon Network. Great anime & manga series. I actually liked the end that they did in the manga books better but I don't think it would have translated to animation & the story on tv that well.
All in all, not to shabby.

it's a talent scout for the best Elvis impersonator,
and a quiz about Elvis.

It was awfull, I love Elvis but I didn't like this program

Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead. Fairly entertaining. I thought The Doctor was going to get a new girl, but with the new Doctor looming around the corner I wasn't surprised when they parted ways.

They screened that here at Easter. I had..... mixed feelings, to say the least. Overall, it wasn't too bad (even if most of the key plot points were less than original), but the ending disappointed me immensely, and rendered it something I'd be unlikely to rewatch. Roll on Russell T Davies being replaced by Stephen Moffat - a vastly superior Who writer, IMO. Shame Davies screwed that one up, actually, as the third season of Torchwood proved beyond doubtg that he is full capable of writing excellent, dark material that doesn't have to fall back on contrivances and crappy-happy endings.

Most of the TV I watch these days is actually films, but the most recent original-content programme I went out of my way to see was Psyhoville, written and (mostly) performed by two of the guys from The League of Gentlemen. Very warped and very funny. The fourth episode was particularly fun: in order to keep the budget down so they could spend it on other episodes in the series, Episode four was written to take place all in one location, and was styled after a tribute to Rope - it even opened with the strangulation scene, and the body being dumped in a large chest in the middle of the room. Apparently they shot it in as close to one take as possible, in real-time. Great stuff.

Hitler's Hidden Holocaust on the National Geographic Channel. Man, that was chilling. I would someday like to go to the Hall of Faces at the Holocaust Museum.

Hung, on HBO. I'll say no more about this new series except that Thomas Jane does a refreshingly low-key portrayal of Traditional Modern Man. And that Jane Adams has something of a Golden Era waif about her - she's like Zasu Pitts with sex.

Going Hollywood

Watched TCM's Marion Davies marathon. Definitely a treat to see King Vidor's "Show People" and "The Patsy," and then this fun little piece of early 30s fluff-- "Going Hollywood." Boy oh boy did Bing ever croon in that one!!

Wait for the DVD to come out..... I had to laugh when I saw an advertisement for the Ozzy Osbourne show being pushed as "reality" TV.... and one of the extras was a blooper reel.

Yes! That show is set in Kansas, which borders the Midwest and the South. They do have a bit of a twang

Well, my one of two shows of the summer is off for the season until early 2010, and that's Burn Notice. So until Mad Men starts up this month, I'm not watching much on TV. Some stuff I come across on History Channel, Travel Channel, and TCM.
