What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Black Narcissus (1947) by Powell and Pressburger, with Deborah Kerr and many others. I don't know how to think about it: visually arresting, with some flash cut editing and a couple hysterical scenes. Glad I saw it, though, it's one of the must see films for cinephiles.

Love this movie - for starters Jack Cardiff's work on it was superb. The film has a real air of forboding throughout and great performances too - particularly from Kathleen Byron as Sister Ruth.

Rabbit Hole with Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart. Very sad, but awfully well done . Kidman was outstanding, and definitely deserved her Oscar nomination.

711 Ocean Drive (1950) with Edmond O'Brien, Joanna Dru, and Otto Kruger. Great shots of L.A. and Boulder (Hoover) Dam, but I prefer seeing O'Brien as a good-guy, like in D.O.A.

I just saw "The Black Cat" (1934) with Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff in my Horror Films class and absolutely loved it! Karloff's Art Deco fortress is pure eye candy.

Director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven. Putting those 45 minutes back into the film most definitely brought an improvement.

Agreed! The movie's only a mere brush with actual history but it was very good none the less.

It is a fantastic adaptation and like their earlier effort "The Call Of Cthulhu" though they made some additions to the storyline I thought they were well considered and tastefully done. While "COC" was done as a silent film "TWID" is a 'talkie' in keeping with their "Mythoscope" esthetic and has fun mimicing the 1930's style monster films.

These folks are doing the best Lovecraft adaptations to date and I hope they keep on keeping on.
