Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood. Excellent performance, excellent movie.

The Duchess with Keira Knightley. The male-dominated society of the 18th-century definitely took its toll on this woman, duchess or not.

Yeah he was. My favorite scene from the movie is on Christmas morning when William Powell is on the couch shooting the decorations off the tree with the BB gun that Myrna Loy gave him :)

Kirk

I love that scene and the one where she walks in on him hugging the girl and they both squish their noses at each other :)

Today I watched Midnight (1939) A really cute comedy starring Claudette Colbert and Don Ameche.

I watched 'Silent Rage' with Chuck Norris. Ha ha. A combination of an action/slasher film. ;0

The Glass Key, with Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake

Sadly, each died at age 50 after a life of heavy drinking.

Yes, very sad. Last week I saw Ladd's funeral crypt at Forest Lawn, Gledale; a well-done bronze bust of him is located next to it. My favorite Ladd/Lake film is The Blue Dahlia. So little did either Ladd or Lake emote in their various roles, that one author refered to the couple as something like frozen zombies in a catatonic state (but he actually wasn't putting them down, though...lol).

The Untouchables also featured an unknown Andy Garcia.

The one scene that sticks out in my mind is when Connery's character refers to Garcia's character as a wop, which causes Garcia to stick his pistol against Connery's head and spout off something close to, "Yeah, and this wop's gonna blow off your mick head!" Connery looks at Costner as Ness and says, "I like him!"

Interesting. They did a bunch of movies together, too. I liked the Blue Dahlia, too.

Exactly, that's the spark Connery seems to bring to any role he plays.
