Just because there is a sort of definitive thread for foundation and lipstick and mascara. If one already exist please excuse me, I'm newish.

Do you use rouge or blush?
What brand/shade?
When do you apply it? (Before concealer? After face powder?)
How do you apply it? (Brush? Fingers?)
Where do you apply it on your face? (Cheekbones? Apples of cheeks?)

First of all welcome!

Yes, I do use blusher.
It's by Bobbi Brown - Sheer Color Cheek Tint in Sheer Lilac.
I put it on after I have put on my mineral foundation.
With fingers.
Apples of cheeks usually (as I'm very pale skinned) but sometimes if I look a little tired I will bring it up my along my cheekbones - works wonders!

I use Besame boudoir pink, on my cheekbones all year and a little dusting on my nose and chin in the winter. I apply it with a brush, after powder.

My 3 favorites

1853525.JPG

MAC Bite of an Apple (Venomous Villains collection)- bright, matte, coral-pink.
Rock & Republic Immoral- birght, matte, orange.
Lancome Retro Rouge (Color Design)- matte, pink-red, cream blush.
I apply them with a duo fiber brush (MAC 187) after foundation and concealer, before powder. I apply blush on the edge of my cheek bones, but not under. I have a round face and color on the apples of my cheeks makes it look rounder.

I don't wear foundation or powder on my face, if i do use blush I usually use nars orgasm, applied sparingly with a brush on the apples of my cheeks. Sometimes I use a random pink/orange/coral eyeshadow as blush, and other times i'll use my lipstick as a perfectly matching cream blush.

I only wear blush on special ocassions. I think I look like I have sunburn if I wear it regularly lol

When I do wear it I like MAC's Frankly Scarlett. Yes, I know it's dramatic for someone who thinks they look sunburned in blush -- but my husband likes me in it so I will wear it for him when we go out. Other than that, I don't use it.

I apply it with a big blush brush on the whole cheekbone -- I slather it on. Kinda Human League-y lol.

I only wear blush occasionally, but if I do I only wear cream blusher since having discovered Benefit Sheer Cream Blusher. It comes in three colours and I use the coral shade. It blends in perfectly applied with fingertips, and dries to a powder. I bought it for my wedding and the same tube is still going strong over two years on.

I find that powdery blushers can be too hit and miss with application, and I so often see women who applied too much and look a bit clownish that I never wanted to wear it previously.
I have also used Benetint before, but it's more of a stain than a blusher and I find it applies strangely over foundation.

I've got tonnes-all MAC beacuse they fit into the MAC palletes. All worn last over powder. Creams with a duo fibre brush and powders with a powder brush.

Creams
Posey- soft blue pink
Lady blush- sofy yellow pink (very natural)
Hunger- deep red (too deep for me)

I'm looking for a bright red and bright pink and a deep pink cream blush

Powders
Dame- sheer blue pink
Well dressed- sheer blue pink
Pinch o Peach- soft yellow pink (a favourite for natural days)
Frankly scarlet- bright pink red (a favourite)
Pink swoon- barbie pink (my favouite)
Dollymix- candy pink
Full fuchsia- bright fuchsia
Azeala- Bright blue pink
Breezy- plum (a bit dark for me)
Apple red- deep red

Looking for a bright red powder blush

I also have a shaping powder in bone beige and a highlight in accentuate.

I collect make-up by the way- it's a hobby- also i do other peoples make-up-so hopefully that explains the large collection.

P.S Thanks Drappa for the benefite product- it's my sisters favourite brand but the benetint was a bit bright pink for her- this might work better.

Tishkaminx, have you tried NARS Exhibit A?
4015N_product.jpg

I've been wanting it forever but I can't bring myself to pay $26 for one blush.
NYX also has a red powder blush (just called Red) and cream blush (Red Cheek). They're both $6 @ cherryculture.com right now.

Thanks for that suggestion- i'v eseen it but I think it may be a touch too orange. I got an Illamsqua cream blush in brazen that was described as a cheery red and it turned out t be more orange toned. I have pink and yellow tones but no purple/blue or orange ones. I'm dying to get the Nars purple eyeshadow in Daphne- I'm sure i can pull off a purple shadow as my colouring is Bright/Clear winter- THE brightest colouring type there is- but I'm always picking up dull puples or greyed purples or too pink purples. It's not very vintage but if I were to do a colour it is a psychobilly bright red or blue or purple.

I look very pale and corpselike without blusher. I use Bourjois Rose Ambre, which smells like old ladies and has apparently been around since the 40s! Which isn't why I use it, but is nice to know.

This is the cosmetic product that's taken me the longest to learn to apply. More than half a lifetime. At 34, I think I'm applying it alright and just lightly enough. I've also first now realized that pinks, browns and plums are so wrong for me and that peach, apricot and light warm brick tones suit me best. I'd just about given up on blush so I bought a cheap 3 toned Rimmel blush the last time in Spring Flower 001. Except for the middle shade, the deeper shade and highlighter are too pink for me (most Asians don't naturally blush pink) so I need to get something similar but in peachier tones.

As I'm very pale it took me literally years to find a right shade - nearly everything is too dark for my face. Then, as I was waiting for my father to load up tons of catfood, I was browsing aisles and noticed Silky Blush Touch in Adorable from Essence. It's just perfect!
I apply it with a brush, after face powder, kind of on the outer sides of my cheekbones and down a bit.

Do you use rouge or blush?
Rouge

What brand/shade?
elf "Blushing Rose"

When do you apply it?
I put it on after foundation. I rarely use concealer or powder.

How do you apply it?
Rouge brush

Where do you apply it on your face?
I do apples and light on the cheekbones. If I look pale, a touch on forehead, nose and chin for that healthy glow.

I find that right above the apples of my cheeks, diagonally upwards in circle motions, stopping a bit before my temples looks most natural on me and suits my face shape best. I think I look awful with blush on my cheek apples.
