Boots No. 7 mousse foundation in New Ivory
Make Up For Ever HD Powder
Clinique Blended loose powder
MAC Flirt & Tease blush
Lorac auburn brow pencil
MAC Orb, Ricepaper, & Satin Taupe eyeshadows
MAC False Lash mascara
Donna Karan Rich Raisin lipstick
I've always been curious about the Boots makeup. It's off and on, but on more as of late when I see some of y'all use it. I know different things work or don't, depending on preference and skin type, for everyone. However, what are your recommendations? I've already purchased their original formula cold cream rose and cuticle oil. I've been pleasantly surprised it works for me since I'm oily.

The only actual makeup items I use from Boots are the mousse foundation and the mineral blush. I *love* the mousse foundation, it is is one of my favorite foundations (and I have quite a few to choose from!) It applies & blends easily, and gives a really flawless matte finish that lasts all day. I would call it medium to heavy coverage, and it is definitely buildable. It is made in France, and the packaging is also really nice and reminds me of Chanel. The mineral blush is nice and comparable to most other mineral brands. It only comes in 2 shades of pink, but they're muted pinks and pretty universally flattering.

All of that said, I have dry skin, so I'm really not sure how the foundation would work for oily skin. It gets very mixed reviews on MUA, but in my eyes it can do no wrong.

I've also used their liquid firming foundation, can't remember the name right now. I liked it, but I bought a shade too dark and ended up swapping it on MUA, and don't remember much about it other than it had a nice finish.

For skincare I like the Original Beauty products - rose toner, rose cold cream, bergamot night cream, and the rose vanishing day cream. I use all of those religiously. Again, I have dry skin, but I think the rose vanishing day cream especially would be good for oilier skin, as it does mattify and almost acts like a primer. It is a lightweight cream and it definitely isn't moisturizing enough for me by itself, so I apply a thin layer over my regular moisturizer.

I also use their No. 7 Instant Radiance Beauty Balm, which is an exact dupe for MAC strobe cream. I mix a little with my liquid foundation for an extra glow sometimes.

Hi

Pardon me for butting in. My Mum used Boots no7 make-up exclusively as she has sensitive skin and its the only brand apart from Almay that doesn't iritate her (MAC eye shadow makes her eyelids peel). My expereinces with using it on her are not great- the reason its good for sensitive skin is due to its lack of pigment I think, its chalky and I have to grind the brush into the shadow or blush and apply layers of it for it to show. I do like the radiance balm , but i preferd the older formulation and packaging. She also uses one of thier foundations but she is looking for a more moistursing one- I'm suggesting she look into Estee Lauder double wear as it gets good reviews. so some good, some bad.

Thanks, ladies. I will avoid the eye shadows since I hate chalky, and I will try the bergamot night cream as I've been looking for a new, more affordable, night cream. The rose vanishing cream sounds nice too. The radiance balm I will try when I run out of my other liquid luminizers. I'm definitely checking further into their foundations. :)
Tishkaminx, be careful of the DW foundation. Like most long wear, it's dry. I had a manager that would mix it with Spot Light to cut it. I thought the DW Light was better, but if she wants full coverage, she may be unhappy with it.
I've never smelled the Outdoor Girl. Did they use violet scent?

Tishkaminx - Love your new avatar by the way, you look very pretty. I have very sensitive skin, combination. I tried the DW and i loved it. But it broke me out like nobody's business. I do still use it for special occasions as i love the finish and obviously the staying power. I didn't find it overly drying though. Although i am a moisturising fiend.

I may have to try the No7 mousse foundation, as i have a Boots voucher. I have tried some of their foundations in the past, but found that they really oxidised badly on me and i found the colour choices a little limiting.

Their translucent powder is fab though and i have used and really liked the Radiance balm stuff.

Last night I was in Target and picked up a few new items to try - a Maybelline foundation and 2 L'Oreal eyeshadows. So, today:

Maybelline Dream Matte mousse foundation in porcelain ivory
Coty Airspun in translucent extra coverage
Lorac auburn brow pencil
Maybelline Dream Mousse blush in rose petal
MAC Painterly paint pot as eye primer
L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour eyeshadows in Endless Pearl and Bronzed Taupe
Aveda nude lip liner
Julie Hewett Oona Noir lipstick

The L'Oreal eyeshadows seem to be pretty amazing, they're not a cream, but not a powder either... more like a pressed pigment. The pigmentation is fantastic even dry, and they apply really smooth. I can't wait to see how they last throughout the day.

I like it somewhat. I purchased it when it first came out, but wanted to use up my MUFE HD foundation. Since I've run out, now I'll finish up this one. It gives sheer to medium coverage, and the consistency is like a creamy liquid.

Too Faced Amazing Face foundation

UD Primer Potion, 24/7 eye shadow pencil in Sin, 24/7 eyeliner Underground

I'm on the search for pan-cake/pan-stik in a color that would work for me, but in the mean time I bought some Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in an effort to find a HG matte foundation...sadly I think there is gluten in it, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't make me ill.

Also, today is the first day in a LONG time I put on a face at all, let alone a full face, so I'm pretty stoked about it.

************
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in Classic Ivory #2 (Think it might be a tad dark, but it blends well...)
Meow Cosmetics Pampered Puss Mineral Foundation in Frisky Abyssinian (Yes, I'm obsessive about matte coverage)
ELF Clear Mascara (to tame my brows)
Meow Cosmetics Brow Beater in Black
Meow Cosmetics VIP Blush in Dame (as eyeshadow and blush)
Revlon ColorStay Gel Liner in Black
Maybelline The Falsies mascara in Black
Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in 050 - Top Tomato
************

Seems like more than I thought it was... When I do my makeup this is my default. It didn't take me very long at all, so I might as well start doing it again! I feel great today. :)

ETA: I just ran a check of the ingredients list, and it does NOT contain gluten so yay me! :)

I feel slightly under-dressed in comparison to you immaculate ladies!
Bourjois Rose de Jaspe blusher (an aside - I LOVE the smell of that stuff - ashes of roses, mmmm!)
Boots No.7 Showbiz Lasting Fix lipstick (a matt red)
Bourjois eyebrow pencil in dark brown
Maybelline XXL Extensions mascara in black

...Collection 2000 powder in Palest Ivory, just to let the side down :D
(It's about as cheap as you can get in the UK, but it's what our nearest chemist stocks!)

^ Sounds lovely, kishtu! I'm envious of you ladies that don't wear foundation. I have to use foundation or at least a primer to have something for my powder to "stick" to. I like a matte look, but powder just doesn't have any staying power on my bare skin.

I recently picked up the Dream Matte mousse, but I'm not wild about it. It seems like it doesn't blend well and just kind of sits on top of my skin. I'll probably give it another try but it may be going up for swap or in the next beauty box. I much prefer the Boots No. 7 mousse makeup, although it is heavier coverage. It is very matte and gives a lovely finish.

Thanks Fortworthgal - I try not to wear foundation, two reasons 1) I have rosacea and the more my skin gets to breathe the happier it is (there are some times when you just have to cover up... and I'd rather keep it for those times or it flares up and 2) my office has the most pecular heating system, it's either very hot or very cold, and the heating comes from one very direct blast, so I have to keep moisturising my face....

Today I'm just wearing the Bourjois Khol in dark brown (that's how they spell it, not me!) and a deep plum eyeshadow as eyeliner. I probably look like a panda but *shrug*
Sometimes you just have to release the inner goth, you know?

Also: In regards to my previous comment about Pan-Stik... I was flipping through Ulta's latest circular and saw Dermablend in a stick type makeup. Has anyone tried it? I know it's heaaaaaaavy coverage, but I'm curious...

or... even the Dermablend Cover Creme... Hmm...
