Gibson & Barnes “Civil” G-1 with real mouton fur collar & Thinsulate lining (and hand warmer side pockets). I wore this most of the time last winter working in NY harbor and it’s getting lots of wear this year too. Can handle just about anything Mother Nature hurls at us; rain, wind, snow, ice, fog, sleet, etc. With an LL Bean goose down vest underneath, this “Winter G-1” is good to about zero degrees F or so.

Congrats again on this one! It's just so well made and fits you great! After seeing those pictures on ig, I was curious how it looks on you and all I can say is wow!

Thanks man! It really is such a wonderful creation by Greg! I'll try to take photos with a thick sweater on later this week. I had Greg spec this for a light layering jacket since I already have the black JL jacket that is a much slim fitting jacket than this.

Deerskin evolution. Love this leather, it is molding to my body.

That deerskin is so cool! I love me some deerskin! Pls keep that jacket so we can see how it will darken and mold to your physique even more.

That is starting to roll and crease! It's just going to get even better! When is your next himel jacket order going to be fulfilled?
I’m really like how it’s starting to take shape, it’s also darkened a touch after a couple of light rains.
I was told it was entering production 2 weeks and it would take about a month or so to receive it. So hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

That's cool to know, that the medium brown shinki will darken over time! It's almost there to you! I forgot what pattern you went with for that other himel order?

I’m excited to see how much darker it will actually get or if it will stay closer to what it is now.
Patiently waiting haha. The other jacket is the Heron A1 button front

I kinda knew it was the A1 heron because it has a button closure and as you mentioned before you are partial to buttons. there was a zip up black heron for sale last year in the classifieds and Im still bummed that I didn't buy it

You wear it well, you made a great choice. When I look at a beautiful jacket I can not wear I envy your size. I've done very well finding vintage Jackets in my size 42/44. I had to go through a lot of jackets to get there. During the search I've acquired many jackets that will never fit me. Jackets I've not seen worn. There are 7 in this room. When Covid subsides I will find a model for some pictures/videos. Being worn brings them back to life.

What size do you wear?

I hear you, I used to dislike the ball and chain zipper pull design but I've grown to like them over time. The length of the pull here is so much shorter than the one with the FW Mulholland or the Aero Premier highwayman so it doesn't bother me so much. I do tuck the pull sometimes especially when there is a chance of them being caught on something

I think it looks stellar. The pull only enhances the jacket.

I just think I prefer the look of buttons on jacket but in particular I think the Heron looks better with buttons. The zip version is also a great jacket and would have been a great addition to your collection. I will say though that whatever my next jacket is...it will have a zipper
