I finally received my Aero 1930's Slimfit Halfbelt in Cordovan CXFQQ yesterday. Ordered this back in September and have been patiently waiting for it arrive - I'm absolutely delighted with the outcome! It was made by Janice, one of Aero's newest machinists - her attention to detail and craft is legit! I went with the "wildcard" option for my Lochcarron tartan lining, as I wasn't fussed what tartan was used, as long as it was green! Now I just need to break this badboy in, I didn't consider how tough the leather would be on the nape of the neck and the inner elbows! Still absolutely buzzing about the colour of the Cordovan, it's unreal.

My sizes are down below.

Great jacket and leather colour, that's what you want from cordovan, is it red or purple? IT'S BOTH!!! My Aero Bootlegger has too much brown in the cordovan but I might be over analysing.

Wearing the jacket in the rain will help soften up the CXL as well.

It arrived a day early! I’m going to write up this jacket. I think Aero outdid themselves. The color is very hard to describe. It def has more evergreen in it than the last batch. Full sun pics tomorrow so I can actually see what color it is. I purposely wore a blue shirt and black pants to try and capture it at least a little bit. Let me tell you. I AM IN LOVE!

The line is forming in the Classified section . . .

Lemme try the b&w thing! Cal Leathers and the best, heaviest, nicest, coolest pair of Harness' that I have seen. Angers me to no end there's no makers name anywhere on them because I want to buy three more pairs and I've no clue where to look. Dude I bought them from told me they were custom ordered from a shoemaker, somewhere in Germany. So if something happens to mine, that's it...

Yeah I didn't consider how much plum colour would come through in the Cordovan, it's really beautiful. Thanks for the tip, Scotland has it's fair share of rain to soften this jacket for me...

I already startet taking it to the office, although it´s really made for a different setting.

Once again, Greg delivered. However, I have some lessons learned with some configuration choices I have made.

I ordered with two chest pockets only, as I quite like a clean look with a Café Racer. Not entirely sure if that was the right choice with this particular iteration, as indeed is now VERY reduced.

Also, I chose blue stitching, but that doesn’t come across at all as there is virtually no contrast to the black leather.

Sleeve-zipper configuration is modified in that the zipper is elongated and has a little metal pin for show at the upper end (“The Manhattan” style). I am undecided what to think about that.

Predominant issue is length. I specified the back at 25,5” as I didn’t want the jacket to run past my belt-line, but one inch more would have suited the silhouette better, IMO. It´s not that I can´t make it work as it is, the jacket would simply be more versatile with some additional body. Anyway, this is TFL not Tinder, so I am not going to lose any sleep over one inch.

Rest of the jacket is super! First moments, I wasn’t too impressed with the hide. My “Michigan” has a very grainy hide, and for this one I let Greg make the choice, only that I wanted his teacore-black. It is very smooth. I am almost sure it is the same batch as Mark´s modified Idaho. I am wearing the jacket now the third day with two outings in drizzling rain, and the leather already start to show life. I am sure this will age well!

I am really happy with the main-zipper. I went for a No. 8, as I am quite done with having to fiddle with tiny (a.k.a. “period correct”) zippers on what essentially are functional items. I believe it looks good too.

Overall fit&feel is very good. On the pictures it seems as if the shoulders are a little wide, but I don’t mind that. I am no longer after the “skintight” look, and I am quite happy that I can layer a jumper under the jacket without feeling restricted.

Pictures are just snapshots with poor lighting. If the sun is to shine ever again, I will try a little harder.

That's a lovely jacket mate. Love the zipper configuration, the chunky main zipper looks great!

Hi Thomas, congrats on yet another beautiful work of art from Greg.

I ordered with two chest pockets only, as I quite like a clean look with a Café Racer. Not entirely sure if that was the right choice with this particular iteration, as indeed is now VERY reduced.

Esthetically, I like it much better with just the two chest pockets. I've seen other FL route 66's with added handwarmer pockets but imo they obstruct the natural lines of the jacket.

However, from my own experience I must say that having no handwarmer pockets does reduce the functionality of the jacket. I like to store my house / car keys somewhere :)

Also, I chose blue stitching, but that doesn’t come across at all as there is virtually no contrast to the black leather.

Maybe tan stitching would be more contrasting but I think blue is more special.

I don't know about you but I sit in my car a lot. The relative shorter length would make the jacket much more practical for me. But most importantly, I think it looks great on you.

Overall fit&feel is very good. On the pictures it seems as if the shoulders are a little wide, but I don’t mind that. I am no longer after the “skintight” look, and I am quite happy that I can layer a jumper under the jacket without feeling restricted.

I think it looks great and the extra room makes it much more versatile. I own a skintight CR but I hardly wear it. Why, because its too restrictive if I wear anything else under it but a thin t-shirt.

Again, congrats on a great jacket!
