Appreciate that, Marc. This is my easiest jacket to wear to date and the thinner hide makes it a year round piece for me here in San Diego.I love the californian. The havana color looks great on you. The hh is rather thin but they do age beautifully.

Excellent fit
I think you are right about this Jin. There’s definitely been a renewal of energy and purpose at JL and it is awesome to behold.I know JL has always been a good maker but I do notice JL stepping up their game with better construction and more options with the leather they use.

When I visited them near the end of 2015 they had no Horween leather on hand, nor any plans to purchase any. The jackets on display were all either purpose built motorcycle gear or fairly dull blousons and car coats. I had read great things about them here but what I saw in the shop was rather uninspiring.
When I went back last month it was hard to believe that I was in the same place. Cool cross-zips and half belts were on display and it was clear that they were now creating the kind of jackets that we love here. I had the chance to speak with both Alan and Damon and their enthusiasm for their work was palpable and contagious. Also the hide selection is now very impressive and changing all the time it seems.
Really cool to see where these guys are at now and I feel especially fortunate because they are just across the bay from me.

Wow, looks amazing. I know how difficult those buttons can be, haha.
In the spirit of the above messages and just the simple fact...I think this might be one of if not my all time fav. I know I’m beating a dead horse with this guy of late but this jacket just feels like a million bucks. I love the versatility of a button front too. Johnson leathers 1920 repro:

I've gotten enough new jackets recently that it's time that I just post a new one without creating a new thread for it.
This is my latest pickup and the most impulsive purchase I think I have ever made.
It's the Freewheelers Lot. 667 jacket in Bullhide suede. This model hasn't been made since 2012 or 2014. Either way it is quite an old model and I was extremely lucky to find it in my size. The measurements seemed perfect for me with fairly short body and sleeve lengths, which are not easy for me to find.
The funny thing is that I never was a big fan of Type III jackets, suede jackets, or denim-style leather jackets. Somehow, this jacket is all three of those things and I loved it from the moment I saw it. Fit is excellent for me. Sleeves are nice and short. I can button this up if I want, but I doubt I ever actually will in practice. I am now back up to 4 Freewheelers jackets in my collection
Thanks! Yes, one of the great things about this jacket is that Freewheelers gave the jacket a decent drop which is really nice. Pretty much all of their jackets have either some drop or a LOT of it which now works extremely well for me.Love the color! The fit is perfect all through out, especially the fit on the shoulders/sleeves/back length. There seems to be a subtle front drop which is very cool to see as most truckers are kind of square. Fantastic find! Great job on the pick up.

This front drop is one of the advantages of the FW Leather jackets, I love it and it makes the jacket so comfortable to wear. In addition, the front drop at FW is perfectly balanced. The front drop on jackets behave similarly to the hip hang of jeans, it is a pleasure to wear such a balanced garment. @dudewuttheheck I also have to say your FW Lot. 667 jacket is an eye-catcher.Thanks!
