I won't be wearing this for 6 months but I'm happy to report that after a trip through the washing machine AND the dryer this 70's suede beater rancher no longer smells like the basement of the worlds oldest building, is soft as silk and will likely be my go to winter crusher. I'm somewhat stunned I didn't destroy it. All for less than a cup of coffee. Well not really but close.

Wow Ton! Total “no shit”!
Thought that might bleed and shrink and...you know, look like gloves after a winter slush bath.
Looks pristine. No guts no glory i guess.
Thanks for taking a chance and sharing.
Question: top loader or front loader washing machine?

Top loader, gentle cycle with a little woolite. I was worried about color loss too but it actually came out and dried darker. These are great jackets. Super cheap, this one is a JC penneys model. In the chest pocket was a book of matches from Wendy's (the fast food joint) dated 1983.

^^^thanks man. Got a top loader and have been afraid the agitator thingy would agitate to death. All the other diys used front loaders
You are the man.
Laundry time!!

My washing machine is from the 1990's, so it's about as efficient as a screen door on a submarine. The gentle cycle was the key, less agitation and slow spin cycle.

With temps much cooler than usual here, I was able to wear my Schott 654 'Casual Racer.' With some bonus shots.

Hi, first time poster. I bought this 1950's Aero Hercules direct from Aero's 'USED' section. It's a mid weight Alaskan steerhide made by Julie Leitch. I asked Holly at Aero if she knew when it was made and she said that, based on the leather used, it could be 90's but sh couldn't be sure. It's in amazing condition.
