Still around! There's a few of us who check in from time to time.
Well that's a relief! Everytime I want to look around at the girly stuff, everything is old. Plenty of new posts with the men here it seems.

Anyway, nice to meet you! I've been snooping around, lurking for a few years now, just never actually say a whole lot haha

Still here. I'm the outlier that dresses for practical reasons. I'm really not into impressing anyone. Always looking to see if anything interesting shows up that works with my long arms and short torso. The fashion scene seems ridiculous most of the time with men bundled up under many layers of clothing, and the woman is wearing a sleeveless, and backless outfit. I dont understand all the jacket wearing indoors. I spend a lot of time outside. When I go inside(if it's 60 or below jacket weather) the jacket is the first thing to go. House set at 68 degrees.

Where I live, you also see the opposite -- it could be 15 degrees out and you see people walking down the street making no concession to the reality of the weather at all except for a puffy vest. And then they complain they're cold when they have to stand at an outside window to buy a movie ticket.

I don't own any "modern" clothes, not because I'm trying to make any kind of a point, but because I'm a woman over sixty who would look ridiculous in a band t-shirt and leggings. (Besides, who ever heard of a Fats Waller and His Rhythm t-shirt?)

I'm the same way! Why in the world do you wear a jacket in your house unless your house is freezing?

I was looking around the other day for an Andrew's Sisters tee shirt...... yeah, that didn't happen. Apparently I'm the only person interested in wearing one of those. But I do have a sun records tee shirt and I have my eye on a Hank Williams shirt too. I've noticed it's the cool thing these days for younger people (born after the 90s) to wear band shirts...bands they've never even heard of let alone actually like and listen to. My niece being one of those people. She refuses to listen to one single song to see if she does like the band that she proudly wears... I just don't get it.

I graduated high-school in 1973. If you look at this year's yearbook, it almost looks like the same style.
While testing fighter jets outside, on a windy 20 degree day, i wore my Jack Wolfskin parka with a fur hood, my teammate had a Champion sweatshirt on. He was from California and didn't own a jacket. No complaints from either one of us on the cold. I find it more unbearable to be too hot than too cold.

It seems like all of the posts by the ladies on this site are old. Is anyone still around? (Female that is)
I've been looking at forums again- this one, and the Halloween forum I used to frequent. When I hear about a lot of others leaving Fb and Ig, for various reasons, I'm crossing my fingers that forums like this will see an uptick in traffic. I hope hope hope.

:) I'm going to try to visit more often.

Howdy.. You are not alone in asking this question! I used to be on here about a decade or so ago and posted regularly for 6- 7 years ( under a different user name that I can't seem to sign into now -but, no matter ).. The lounge was so active back then , and I used to spend HOURS here on a weekly basis ! Life changed quite a bit , as I'm sure it has for many. I moved overseas and actually have been involved in both 16th & 19th century historical re-enactment , and have not been wearing vintage on a regular basis like I used to . But, over the past couple years I have been feeling the pull to get back to that and whenever I start thinking about this, I pop on here and have a look around . I too have noticed how quiet the ladies rooms have become, but I still see lots of familiar names ! And, I am so pleased that this lovely place still exists and I hope it remains for many years to come . Although it may be less active , it still remains a wonderful, invaluable source of information. I , too ,have grown weary of most social media and pretty much given it all up . ( I only keep FB to stay in touch with my elderly Mother and Aunts , who somehow have mastered that platform but can't figure out how to send emails :p) But, I do love the comparative cosiness and calmness of these old Forums. Who knows, if enough of us feel this way and keep signing on, maybe we will see a lively community again !
