Good choice! Love the 1 piece back on that version. Talk to them about the dip. I think the 30s pattern might be longer than 2"....
I find 2" to be perfect.

Oh, I love the jacket as it is! I do agree though that a front dip is great for styles whos backlength would otherwise result in the belt not covered in the front. My next jacket is actually going to be the Aero Cossack, which is their 1930s HB pattern with the front dip. I'm making up my mind on the leather at the moment. Want something that doesn't age as quickly as CLX. Considering seal goat.

keep us posted on the leather you choose!

Ah springtime in Chicago, snow flurries...and my skin, the exact shade of a new born pig. This is why I don't take pics outside people.

Little disappointed in my new iPads camera. Sucks as bad as the iPhone. Ah well. I am undefeated in the bathroom selfie.

I have not been able to get this on. Lost some weight so on it goes. This is the "real" trucker jacket. Late 40s by the zipper. Horsehide.

It was hanging there so I couldn't help myself.

True "Trucker" length.

Terry this 40s HH is the real deal. Really dig the back.
Be well. Bowen

Thanks Monitor.

@Michael A that denim blazer ensemble is a great win
Thanks marmalademan. I found that in a local thrift and sadly they had the pieces scattered in different places. I'm almost positive I saw h.i.s jeans there a week or so ago, but didn't see any of the other parts. I got the other parts and realizing it was a suit went back to look for the pants. Sadly, they were gone. Not that I would have necessarily worn it as a suit, but I like to preserve the full history of an outfit if I can.

Thanks all for the comments and likes,
Miichael

Is that Trucker made from the typical mythical 4oz or 4+ horse? Cause I couldn’t imagine having to button that up on that kind of leather.

I had about all weights and lost world jackets from the 4 plus to the A2 weights, and vest. This one is just interesting and unique and it's just so darn stiff. It's like a starched shirt. The difficulty in buttoning is more with the weight of the wearer than the weight of the jacket! Even trim down this jacket is just too small for me. Yes, it is a bear to button, notice I popped out one of the buttons!

I browsed through Aeros Sale Page yesterday, nearly bought a jacket, but then it came to my mind I still had this one... Mendels 9+ lbs Highwayman.. spent the rest of the evening treating it with some beewax leather conditioner and wore it out today.

Lengthwise it just covers my belt, which is awful because people stare at my wide exposed navel all the time. Rather than this dandy look, I really wish it was three inch longer (which wouldn't turn it into a car coat ofcourse).

I think that looks pretty good. That's pretty close to the length I''ve been talking about. Although, you do look a bit like a Granddad.

Length looks fine to me, not a grandad in sight. What's the need to condition though?

I assume Mendel hasn't conditioned it once, which means the jacket hadn't seen any conditioning since he purchased it six (?) years ago and that showed. Especially at the collar fold, the leather was showing signs of wear and stiffness and I don't want the leather to become brittle and flake at the common spots (collar, shoulders, upper arms). I don't believe it is possible to constantly wear a jacket and first condition it after 30 years without seeing any damage to the leather. I rather condition every now and then than wait and see whether I am right or wrong and risk irreversible damage.

Winter is almost over even for the north so today I tried on the new jackets I've acquired in the past season before they're tucked away for spring and summer.

Here's one picture of my Buzz Rickson Deck Hook Jacket, which I bought at a local store at 70% discount. Very nice cotton shell and inner wool lining. The only issue is that this size 42 can fit a person with a 46'' chest, so it's quite a roomy look. But the spacious jacket is an absolute comfort to wear!

Here's me in my second-hand Buzz Rickson Superior Togs B-10 Jacket. The fur collar is a lovely golden-brownish color and the texture is second to none! I also highly enjoy the rust cuffs and knits. This jacket is a size 42 and fits comfortably. Definitely a keeper.

Finally, here's me in my Eastman B-15 Jacket, which is also a size 42. Eastman's cotton flight jackets have trim cut around the waist. Although I wanted to sell this B-15, I might very well keep it as it is growing on me now. Did not like the fit but today as I put it on, it fits nicely!

Let me know what you guys think of the jackets? :)
