I don't know how many jackets I've seen you in, with all your pics, and videos, but MAN this is the nicest, best fitting, coolest look one yet!

98 degrees in Oakland today, too hot to wear any jacket. Gave me a chance to soak the Himel Heron in the sun, try and get rid of the weird smell. Sure is a beautiful jacket. Emailed Himel, they said "Honestly any sewer could reattach those buttons as for the smell..try fabreeze spray". I am assuming they meant on the lining only and not the leather What does everyone use on the leather, Pecard or something? Should I treat the leather?

OK, this should probably be on another thread, sorry if I am not following proper forum protocol.

Here are some fit pics of the Jacket I would have worn today. I have been told I have serious high water sleeves and should consider trading this in. What do you guys think. Even though I haven't actually worn it yet, the more I see it and try it on, the more I love it. But how bad are the short sleeves? Ok guys, lets hear it!

Smells very musty, like mildew or mold. Practically emptied a whole bottle of fabreze on it, and baked it in the sun for 2 days off and on, as I can't exactly leave a jacket like this lying around in Oakland. Smells up the whole apartment.
Should I treat the leather, with what is that stuff everyone talks about, Picard?
The leather is beautiful, and what a unique jacket. I think it is truly something special from my limited experience.

I’ve had success with a old jacket once hanging out side on a windy day all day got rid of the musty/dusty smell, Mould would be a different kettle of fish altogether, I thinks Picards would me more for dried out leather than weird smells, maybe a leather specialty dry cleaner is what your after even then mould can ruin things in my experience, I take it this was bought 2nd hand did the seller disclose the jacket condition in regard to smell?

I think getting it in the sun today helped, I have it in front of a fan, and have applied fabreze to the lining several times. I think it is getting better. I love the look of the leather. Very different from another Shinki jacket that I recently acquired, which smells wonderful.
As for the sleeves? I tried a very limited version of this:

Actually got 1/2" more length on the sleeve. OK folks, nobody freak out. One of the buttons did pop off but it was going to soon anyway, and it is a pretty tough jacket. :)

Do people dry clean these kinds of jackets? And if so, where would I go?

Thanks!!

I see a couple of companies out of the UK selling Buffalo Levi's Truckers on ebay that are made in india.

Anyone actually seen or handled one of these? I still would prefer riveted buttons rather than snaps. They claim that these are brand new and genuine levi's, and that they are an authorized seller of Levi's. They have them in small through xx large, but no information on exact size.

Wadda ya think?

It's hard to tell where the sleeve actually hits you in those pics. From my past experience if I even ask myself if the sleeves are too short...I already know the answer.
Sleeve length is a bit subjective but I think there is a generally accepted aesthetic around here. Personally I like them to cover my wrist entirely and land about 1/2" -3/4" above my knuckles on a leather jacket. Textile jackets, I can live with a little shorter.

Standing at attention, with my arms at my sides, they land about 1/2 way between my wrist and my middle knuckle. The distance between my wrist and my middle knuckle is 4 inches, so they land 2 inches below my wrist, and 2 inches above my middle knuckle.
Of corse if I reach up they rise. I don't ride, so I don't need as long a sleeve as someone on a bike. But, I think your are right, that if I have to ask, I already know the answer.
What do you think about the idea of getting them wet and stretching them?

From the look of the background, I presume it's a geology lab? Great jacket BTW.

It's my favorite Aero! Although my new B-3 might change that.

Geology on the left, bio on the right! It's a general use lab. Bio is tracking growth of aquatic life in the cups. Some of them are 3 years old and still going (translation: I'm too lazy to clean it up, so it's a new experiment, haha!). The students love the using the microscopes to see what's in them.
