GW RW 27752 A2 again today, though with the wind I am now thinking a G1 would have been a better choice

A 1950s McGregor Antifreeze just arrived from the States - bargain at $20 even taking account of the GSP charges. I bought it as a project coat - to see if it can be dyed James Dean Rebel Jacket red. I've done my research and this appears to be pretty close to the correct style. Google tells me that Rit colour remover will take out the military green dye and leave it cream and that Jacquard Acid Dye (Fire Red) should re-dye it. The trouble is I like the colour it is and having seen it on I don't want to risk spoiling it. Advice please?

It's been unseasonably warm for this time of year in my part of the World, but thankfully cool enough this morning to give my Shinki HH Good Wear Rough Wear W535 AC-27752 some quality-time... :)

That's a great look! Love the cap as well. They go together beautifully.

Thanks for the compliments & likes all... :) JC's skill, attention to detail, and use of Shinki HH are the stars of the show (doesn't hurt that it fits exactly as I like in an A-2 either). ;) Regarding the B-1 cap, I purchased it from WWII Impressions, and am quite impressed with the materials and quality. Their version does not have the accurate leather sweatband, or brittle Bakelite visor, but it fits well, and 'looks the business' IMO. ;)

I should note that the Shinki HH is some of the most authentic-looking, and finest HH I have ever worn to date. Very, very, nice hide. I have a feeling that this A-2 will be a close companion of mine for many years to come...:)

A-12 / MA-1. What else. And BTW, if you've not seen a space shuttle up close, get over here and do it. I was talking to a guy my age about Challenger when my brother called me from OCS as a pilot in training. I didn't believe him at first and somehow, that all came back and I got pretty emotional. You can't look at it and not think about the amazing feat and the lives lost in both incidents...I prefer to see that sort of thing as opposed to get involved in the current political hatred. It's better for your soul...

I had that opportunity, in the mid 1980's, when a shuttle (I believe the Enterprise) was sitting outside at Dulles Airport in DC, awaiting the opening of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Very, very impressive. So I echo ButteMT61... get over there are get a close-up look!
