Vanson Chopper’s turn to be taken out for a spin, along with my Triumph Tiger. I haven’t done this jacket enough justice the last several years so it still looks pretty new. I promise to wear it more often this year - hand on my heart! This is the Thurston Bros version with plain black rayon lining and not the padded lining commonly seen on Vanson’s factory offering. Despite this it’s plenty thick and super bad-ass. Made an effort to show the jacket with open collars, half open, and fully-zipped.
I’d never really cared much formthe chopper before, but WOW!
That really looks great. So great that i will now immediately leave the internet and not go to ebay. Note to self: leave internet. DO NOT VO TO EBAY.

Sweetfights,
I know you were not asking me the question, but I thought I’d chime in since I have a Comet PLU-3 myself. Mine is a size 46 (As are all my Vansons). I have a 44” chest, a 38” waist and I’m 6’1”.

Thanks El Marro- that is very helpful
Now I know I am between a 42 and 44 size in the Vanson Comet. Damn......

Got this guy a few years back. I've been cleaning out the closet and this came up. I wore it around and began to fall in love.

Just an example of great leather outerwear that doesn't cost a bunch of money. Fully lined, repels light water, great fit and great look. Practical.

Windward. New phenomenon to consider: see the large vertical crease down the wearer's left side? It seems like it formed due to being pressed against the breast pocket backing!

View attachment 157911
I see on the other side there is another vertical crease but much closer to the center, on your left your horizontal chest pocket zipper guides it closer to the edge, otherwise it would form similarly on both side more or less.

Man, that is exactly what happened to me with the chopper! When I joined the lounge I was not really a fan of any café racer style jacket and I found the chopper to be particularly unpleasant in every way Some time went by and I got a cross zip, then a café racer. After that, the next time I looked at the chopper I saw brilliantly designed cross zip with a café racer collar. I have not bought one yet, but I am always scanning eBay and the classifieds here for a size 46 or an XL chopper.

O it’s not even remotely the same. It’s SUPER smooth, lighter and quite a bit darker. And I’ve been wearing it hard. Just look. At cost plus trying out some potential patio furniture. I’m practically ruining the jacket.

Ton, good attempt to break in this brand new Bootlegger) I mean, you treat your jacket probably too much hard... to make it have more grain... On this photo you treat it with a lot of... Relaxation!))
P.S. Very nice and very very positive photo!
