Regarding the Thedi “gun” pocket. Despite the gun-like shape stitched on the top of the pocket, the actual pocket is just a normal interior rectangular pocket. At least it was on mine. I always had the impression it’s just a normal pocket with a little extra styling on top.
Don’t overthink it, it’s a pocket.

Yeah, your right. And for all the Freudians out there, with all due respect, sometimes s cigar is just a cigar.

I find discussing politics very useful, actually. You get a very good insight into a person you're talking to and I don't mean their political views. That I couldn't care less about. Rather, you learn if they're racist, for example and then you know not to talk to them anymore.

This is why I bought a HWM and this is why I sold it. Won't ever look this cool. Ever!

Wow! I wouldn't be able to tell by the placement of the collar snaps and the leather. My collar snaps aren't as close to the edge as with your jacket. Very nice.
Thanks! I think this is one of the early versions. Has some cool no longer available features. The entire hem is leather lined with 2" of leather and the pocket bags are heavy canvas. Even the drill is a bit different. More coarse than what I've experienced. This is my 4th iteration of the j106, bought second hand, and it's the best fitting of the bunch. Go figure!

Every time I see HWM, I think about Hot Water Music.

Extraordinary warming woolblend (70 w/30 poly)-tweedcoat, halflong with zipped (quilted) windvest. One of my favorites. Heavy warming, sporty-elegant, more or less lightweight.

I respect everyone's views on jackets in this forum. I know many here have wildly different political views and many of those views I disagree with strongly. I prefer not to have those views spelled out in this forum because this forum is for talking about jackets. If someone has good information on jackets and also happens to have political views I dislike or find abhorrent then I'd prefer not to know about their political views because they aren't relevant here. This is the same reason that I rarely accept friends on Facebook. Many older people who I enjoy talking to and being around seem to lose all sense of decorum on Facebook and espouse viewpoints that make it hard to look at them in the same light. I prefer to live in ignorance of the political views of many people in order to share friendships with them based on the other, less volatile parts of their lives.

and now for something completely different... Cooper A-2, Major 8 panel cap and Roundhouse overall. I still have to figure if i swap the size 40 cooper for a 38, the only one available right now is with USAF patch on the chest which i don't like or go to a tailor and have the shoulder moved 1 inch or 2 up.
