What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

It's awesome, I know. Someone was selling one recently on the Bay, size 40 but they were also the member here. I offered them $650 Paypal, F/F direct but they refused because apparently my credentials weren't convincing. The bidding ended at $450 or sth like that. Lol.

I am hunting for one for sure. Would love to have it some day.

How was sizing on the highwayman for you?
Size 40 add one inch sleeve and add one inch body length.

The P2P is quite misleading on these 50s patterns (24" for size 40), they don't work like the 30s patterns (23" for size 42). The front is regular width and the back is relaxed and that's where the bigger P2P comes from. If you get them slim fitted in the back then it's too small everywhere else.

The middle back (at the armpits) is wide and it pushes the extra leather under the armpits and this helps with the mobility.

Just picked up my first vintage piece, thanks TFL. Unlabeled CHP, probably a 50s Cal?

Not sure I’ll ever be able to go back to repro.
Please excuse the selfie

Also, shout out to @Mandarin for the superb piece

looks great on you what a nice jacket - I think I was eyeing the same one but decided I need to slow down and learn more about vintage before I go in on one

Finally tried a standard Highwayman. Gonna give it time but feels right. Love the look. First experience w CXL steerhide on a jacket that fits right, but it’s just as everyone says: thick, more pliable than CXL horse, beautiful character. This one needs a new pull on the zipper slide but otherwise in great condition.

Looks great! CXL SH can be much easier to wear than FQHH for sure.

I Butchered a similar highwayman trying to eleviat the "extra" leather in the back; big mistake. Totally threw off the mobility. Couldn't get a phone any wear near my ear:(
