What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I'm not wearing it today but I thought this would be a good place to share this story.

Bought this LL a couple of weeks ago. The pics were the worst but I decided to hit bin without asking questions about condition or size because it was listed pretty cheap.

It turned out to be too small but I was able to stretch it up a couple of inches, just enough for a tshirt only fit.

Today I realized I totally forgot to let the seller know how much I love the jacket so I decided to send her a couple of fit pics. This was the reply I got:

Votre message me touche particulièrement.

Your message particularly touches me. This jacket belonged to my dad who was a biker, then to my uncle and finally my cousin who wore it. Unfortunately my cousin left us in June.
To see this jacket come back to life on your shoulders and in addition in your country (he would have liked to visit it) makes me happy.
There is a sign to all of this.
Thank you again and good luck

There's so much more to a jacket than the jacket itself.

Thanks for sharing this heart-warming story with us! When handing it over to your kids at some time in the future you can tell them the history of the jacket. Btw. beautiful jacket and overall fit looks good to me.

Nice jacket here as well as photos. However I am more a fan of the boots. Are those Nick's Americanas? Or a pair of similar White's?

Really awesome jacket & story behind it there Marc! Great of you to reach back out to the seller as you did.
We really just never know how even the smallest of efforts may encourage people beyond our expectations.

That shirt is nice.

Thanks! It's a rare model from Ooe Yofukuten. I love the way the cut the neck line on it.

Great mood in those shots, and bokeh, too. You're upping your photo game.

Thanks! A few months ago I upgraded my camera from a Fujifilm Xt2 to a Sony A7riv and mostly use the 135mm 1.8 lens. It's definitely an upgrade. Plus hopefully my girl and I have gotten a little better at photography as well.

Snow for the next three days. First glimpse of winter is here. I have to go buy a red velvet cake with “red” written across the top to commemorate Taylor’s Swift’s re-release of her album. This is the life you live whilst rearing a tween girl. Windward seemed up to it. And if ever a day begged for some porters and stouts…

Not wearing today but “what jacket am I weighing today”….this kind of shocked me. With a duty belt this is well over 10lbs. It’s a good thing it’s soft. I’ve decided anything over 5lbs must be soft. I’ve grown to prefer lighter weights and heavy plus stiff is 100% banned from my closet. I can’t wait to give it a real wear this weekend. I suspect my former Cal Ventura (that I sold around 2012) was actually an AL. I’ve never had a Cal this heavy.

Took some quick fit pics of @Monitor's old Speed Demon for another member, really a sweet jacket, different leather from what Stu currently uses, not as soft as the current batch, a bit more shine, and a grey core similar to the Freewheelers Rude Black. It's super comfortable and I'm glad to have it.
