What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Its black and gold time in New Orleans because the Saints will be playing football again. I normally don’t wear black for work much outside football season, but it presents an opportunity to take my Bates for a spin before work.

I’ve been of a mind to pare down my small collection. This Bates has been on the conceptual chopping block. Slipping it on again, I have to say it’s incredibly easy wearing and the leather is a certain version of perfection- thick, pliable, a bit of sheen and a ton of grain. During whatever bright future sees bars opening again in New Orleans, I think this one will be coming with me.

You’d be crazy to sell this one. An older Bates in perfect condition that fits so well. Beautiful leather, less common design. Etc. Yeah, nuts. Keep it.

That looks great on you, very sharp sir. Hope you keep it.

It's also the closest I have seen a photo of you trying to be "Mr Frown." :)

Classic Windward thanks to @rockabilly for the nice edition. I owned the ELMC rendition, but this one is nicer. Just got it out of the box. Great fit over a swearshirt. Nice heavy hide. Beautiful!

Thanks!

The ElMC was a nice jacket. This one fits better. @rockabilly did the find I just did the Buy.
That is spectacular Terry! Great fit! Just got my vest today btw. It’s perfect! I am stealing your look under the HWM and I think I can wear it as just a vest too. I’ll need to up my flannel shirt game though. These Kohl’s flannels can only go so far

You can totally just rock that vest alone, absolutely no need for jackets or anything to tame it down. Perfect!

Friday night, figured I have to get back in the game, being single and all now... No dice, though. Chicks just don't dig a well dressed man anymore. Oh well...

Prinze Heinrich suede sailors hat.
1911 Austro-Hungarian military coat. Vintage or antique?
1970's Austrian Anton Vanek motorcycle police leather trousers.
1970's Sears harness boots.

cool! the cap is magical, don't you suddenly feel to build entire outfit to support it.

so far after I bought that cap, I have bought 2 turtleneck sweaters, 1 crew neck sweater, 4 corduroy pants and 2 striped tshirt:D:eek::confused: just by sheer will I hold myself back from overcoat since it would be complete nut in my climate.

...

That would foremost take a Mercedes W123 / 200D in Papyrus Green with a Wackeldackel and a hat shape crocheted loo roll cover on the rear shelf...:D
