What also helps in preventing excessive color loss in selvedge jeans is using Woolite for dark colors (black bottle) and limiting the amount of washing.
It's totally different than a modern day Levi's. It's raw, selvedge denim. You don't have to be careful washing them, but it's about achieving a desired effect. I think the Ironhearts are 350/pair now.
