Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: "With great power comes great responsibility." This is my gift, my curse. Who am I?

Excellent Randy!

Hats look great, Eric, as does the snow. But with great snow comes great responsibility!

This afternoon I am showcasing my hat wearing responsibly. I chipped out the frozen seed from the feeder tray and left it on the ground for the squirrels. I put out new seed for the birds. My Gannon Wanderer (silverbelly w/charcoal trimming) was my hat for my morning outside tasks.

A late afternoon soirre about the neighborhood under the brim of a Stetson Stratoliner.

I started the grill to begin a Sirloin Tip roast. A VS Stratoliner (inspired by the Stetson hat of said name) in dove beaver felt was my headgear.

After returning home on the 29th, I had to do an unplanned dash back to Osaka on the 30th. This time I chose my Stetson Custom V.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I’m well away from the earthquake area. I do have a couple of friends up there. Both are safe but had to evacuate their homes for the time being.
Bonus points for the cross zip!!
Your black cherry will totally finish that look.

Thanks! Just my second time wearing it.
How long can I expect it to take for the leather to soften up a bit? Right now I feel a bit like James Dean meets C3PO!
Hard to say. Depends on the leather used and how tanned, etc. Your’s looks quite substantial. What brand is it? Best way is to wear it often, especially if new. Getting it somewhat wet then wearing helps speed the process. There are several threads in the leather jacket threads discussing break in processes.
Best is to wear the heck out of it, when it rains wear it and then after.
It’s a process. You’ll love it when it finally molds to your shape.

He should have worn it when he was power washing the other day, right B?

Now I’m reminded of Seinfeld… The Jacket

“I had a leather jacket that got ruined. Now, why does moisture ruin leather? I don’t get this. Aren’t cows outside most of the time? I don’t understand it. When it’s raining, do cows go up to the farmhouse, “Let us in, we’re all wearing leather.. Open the door! We’re gonna ruin the whole outfit here..” “Is it suede?” “I am suede, the whole thing is suede, I can’t have this cleaned. It’s all I got!”

Thanks again, Bowen.
It’s a Schott. It said on the tag not to get it wet, but the guy in the shop said it wasn’t a problem to wear it in the rain. As an experiment, he said he’d put his in the washing machine.

Etsuko doesn’t want me taking it out in the rain. It might be worth wearing it for water blasting, just to see the look on her face!
On second thoughts, no. I’d pay for it later!
