Charcoal stingy Biltmore Royal today. My first hat bought new in the early 90's. Recently had a shop take it in for a reblocking, new sweat and new ribbon. They absolutely butchered it, and that spurred me on to learning how to do it myself so that I could make it wearable again.
It's not all the way there, but at least it's wearable again. Not gonna be able to get it much better until I can get my hands on a hat block to straighten the sides of the crown and soften the severe taper they put in.

It might not be what you wanted, but I think it looks good on you. Hell, really push out of your comfort zone--snap the front of the brim up and wear it as a Porkpie. Oh, and a belated welcome to The Lounge!

Warmer and humid this morning found me in an unlined Champ Featherweight fedora.

I switched to a Stetson Florentine straw for some puttering about.

On this Memorial Day I deliberately took a long moment to remember all our heroes who have left us while fighting for our country. Thank you to all who have served the US and protected our freedoms.

Cheers, Eric -

A fine hat indeed, and such a moving tribute to the fallen. Follow that as they say.
Not that I ever could, but our weather does lend itself to straw hats at the moment.

As this photograph depicts. How a wide brim can reduce the discomfort of
sunburn.

Been away for a few days so haven't been posting. Before I try to get back on my regular schedule here's one from last week. I usually take my hat-pics round the back. Just to compensate this time I decided to take a shot around the front. Here ya go.

Good to see you posting again Stefan, I do hope that all is well. When the week in hats failed to appear I went to the calendar, then I checked the level in the whisky bottle. Still the same as when I left it. Strange!

Hey all!
This John Batterson that I have had for several years, but rarely wear.

I had often wondered if there was a connection to Stetson, but with so few examples it was hard to tell. Until, that is, a few years ago when I saw another one, not a Tyrol, up for sale on Etsy and it had a manila keyhole size tag. Mystery solved, but I wish I had grabbed pics for posterity. Oh well...
Have a great day!
