Our resident newspaper archive wizard @DaveProc recently posted some wide ribbon OR ads that he found through 1941. The first mention I found (during my insomnia) of a thin ribbon OR, in the Miller Stockman catalogs specifically, is from 1949 and 1950, though these ads list a 3-cord band. The first ad of the 4-ligne ribbon OR that has been discovered and added to the Miller Stockman thread is 1956. Maybe the Stetson ads thread has a more precise date. There were certainly any number of thin ribbon, bound edge hats that could be considered forerunners of the OR style through the 30's and 40's though. Even the 1902 catalog shows a variety of thin ribbon Boss Raw Edge hats which could be argued to be something of a progenitor of the OR.
Thanks, J Lee

Been reading old threads all night and can’t find all the OR answers I’m looking for. Always enjoy reading old threads, though.

I dropped some food on the above brim. After cleaning and sitting the hat to dry on a block, I switched to a Gannon Wanderer.

The granite beaver felt changes colors in the different lights. Tonight it is gray-brown.

More or less all your hats make me a bit jealous, Eric, but that Borsalino especially so.

Wegener "Start" possibly late 1920s. A Felt mélange with a Rauh / Rough Finish. A Curled Brim with a Blind Stich Over Welt which was typical of the time period and place. Also has a Back Bow.

Beautiful! I really like this style.

Today I worked in the tide of hair that has reached Verona in recent weeks.

A friend asked me, it was slightly ironic, to wear the Borsalino Panna. Here he is satisfied :)

His was a question to try to see if a 58cm Alexandria really fit on my head. There it is!

There is no trick and there is no deception, just the fun of wearing a very special hat.
Nice, but not for me. Anyone interested write to me

Nice Monday to everyone
We don't get to see you in a lighter coloured hat often, Daniele. Like you said: the hat is nice enough, but maybe it's just not for you.

A Bailey thin ribbon hat was my choice for a morning dog soirée.
