The day started gray and as soon as I wore the homburg of the day, the rain fell, and then it rained.

Carlton - Chapeau de Luxe, size 60cm or 7 1/2 in the US.

The address of the Meer hat shop is that of its location between the late thirties and the late forties, therefore the hat was made in that decade.

The color of the "buttery" felt is "Auburn" and the company that makes it is JB, a supplier of high-class hats for some French brands in the first fifty years of the last century.

I confess it's a little big for my head, but I like it too much. The color of the felt is called in Italian "ramato" and the ribbon is in a dark brown which slightly contrasts the felt. Its proportions are the imposing ones of the French "Diplomatique"
