Another morning trip into the void for supplies. Brisk enough for a Italian Cashmere overcoat and a mid-50s Mallory XV. Gills! This one has graced the interwebs many times. It gets a lot of head time because of the vintage feel and dimensions, a favorite. Something about a wide brim in the cool morning...tastes like...victory!

The whole outfit is a victory, Mike. Travellin' in style!

I bought a couple of really nice hats from Stefan recently. I picked them up from the post office yesterday. I'm waiting for some winter sunshine before posting photos of them.
In the meantime, here's a two week old or so photo of the Borsalino Qualitá Suprema I bought from Stefan in April. Borsalino called it Agave. It's a wonderful colour, and one I think the autumn light brought out quite nicely.
Have a good week ahead folks.
Unlikely I'll ever find another in that colour. Great outfit, Steve. Love that coat.

Now how could anyone not like a homburg like that?! Superb, Brent.

Good afternoon. I have never had anything against black hats; as a matter of fact, I have a number of them, but I usually wear them on formal occasions and funerals. It just so happened that I lucked up while I was cruising through one of my local hat shops a couple of months ago, and the proprietor made a deal that I couldn't pass up. I like the look and feel of this one, and its shape goes along with my more recent casual lifestyle as a result of the pandemic. I have been wearing this hat all weekend.
Excellent Quality Stetson Bogie

Rightly so, Reggie. Nothing wrong with black hats.

That's what they said at Pearl Harbor.

A running marathon to the end, Adrian! Beautious!!

So why not a Borsa thin ribbon (TAR) for me today?!

Sorry about the drip. It was so perfectly centered, I had to leave it there.
Have a SUPER week, everybody.
Why not indeed! Looks great, Charlie.

Well, time to wrap up American week (which lasted for a few weeks, but who's counting?). This must have been one of the first hats that I own that actually came from America (and not manufactured under license).
Knox Westlite (Mike Miller redid the ribbon).

Tomorrow is the official start of Italian week. It will last quite a while. Here's a taster.
Borsalino Eglesti (I tried it on before I took care of the beard).

Brought it home just in time for election eve. Trove the look of that Westlite.

The suit: jacket, pants, shirt, pullover and everything else are great, the hat does its part, but it's the last one on my favorites list.
Complimenti Michael
Thanks Daniele. I probably should have gone with the tan Open Road?

Great hat and great look, Michael. Both coats work.
Thanks Stefan. Both coats were a necessity for my walk yesterday. It was windy and cold here.

Your first American hat makes a fitting end to American week. It's still a nice hat. Looking forward to Italian "week".

Thanks,
Michael
