Hiding from the heat in an old Bailey.
Thanks Stefan.Thanks, Michael.
Classic panama, what's not to like?
Nice. That nutria felt looks to have some body to it.
Thanks HJ. Art made this just before retiring and I let him decide the specifics. He was indeed a master.Jonesy, the subtle difference in tones really set the hat off & brings out the subtle differences in texture. Not a flash & clash kind of dualist. Art was a Master at working textures & colors.
Thanks Stefan. It is pretty easy to find a good backdrop around here. As you dress for the public as a civil servant, I do so as a retired one. Although as a Community College Culinary Instructor, I mostly just wore my Chefs hat.Seems to have done wonders for the hat. Cool pics as usual, David.
Good look from head to toes, Michael. Nice color coordinationThis Marathon is feeling particularly blue this morning,

Have a happy Fourth,

I love that pine green Whippet, Eric.Early morning dog soirée. Tio (Horatio) and I strolled the neighborhoods. My "neighbors" left their firework remnants all over. I did come prepared with a trash bag as I have in years past. I filled a trash bag and did not get all in the parking lot of the Park reserve. Perhaps later today I can head back and thoroughly pick it up. I am disappointed.
During my early morning dog soirée I wore a Stetson Playboy. The pine green is a unique felt hue. Arriving home I thought it would be interesting to have a Whippet and Stratoliner in the same felt hue join for a group pic this morning.
Our low sun combined with the warmth and humidity have the pics not accurately presenting the colors. I think they do a mostly good job portraying this small part of the history of Stetsons hats from the same decade.
Cheers. Be safe, be strong and see you on the streets soon, Eric -
I used to think Optimos were way overpriced, but then I got one of their Montecristis. The craftsmanship and attention to detail on their hats are truly remarkable: just the color combination of the liner and the felt on your hat is impeccable.View attachment 246214 View attachment 246213 View attachment 246215 View attachment 246216 View attachment 246217 Wearing this Optimo Aubergine today View attachment 246213

Thanks, Michael. Well spotted on the nutria felt: it does have some heft to it, even if it isn't all that heavy at 140 grams. Thanks Stefan.
Nice. That nutria felt looks to have some body to it.

Another unknown brand (to me at least), but those can often be the nicest finds. Looks good, Joe.Harcfield Imperial Hats - Dynafelt

Don’t know anything about this brand Harcfield or Dynafelt which seemed to be used on a wide array of hats over many years. I’m guessing a form or water repellant treatment for the felt. I accidentally left this hat and a couple others get hit with a downpour... this one the water beaded up much more so than the others. The felt I believe is a dark brown.. though in some light it has a greenish ting.. I think that may just be from the greenish ribbon. I do like the color combo and the bound edge offsets nicely. The sweat isn’t of the highest quality.. but still holding up. Didn’t find any manufacturing tags underneath it. The brim is right about 2 inches to the front.. maybe a hair under... about 1 7/8 on the sides. A nice wearing hat.
