Korean War era Knox Premier Quality baku straw. A very light and airy hat weighing in at 1.9 ounces. Baku straw was sourced from the Philippines.

It's a wonderful hat (thanks again!) but my wife says that it makes me look suspicious.

Thanks, Brent. I was still around but mostly over in the outerwear/jacket section. (Bowen and Jonesy might remember the above picture.) Three pairs of boots, two pairs of shoes, and a cardigan/jacket later...

Hückel Weilheim "Chevreau", NOS condition, mid 1950s. The felt color and finish are fantastic. Also great overall construction and detail work. I found this hat back in 2011.

Came with original display size and price tag.

Very nice! And you're right...that color is fantastic! Also the way the ribbon twists to make such a subtle bow.

Arrived today!!! And WOW......is it clean and nice!! Looks like NEW!!

I will opine about it some time in the future in the OR thread! I have a few things of interest to post there..... And the felt and ribbon color are a good match to the first photo of the whole hat......(at least on my screen).
OH, and YES......I am wearing it today!

A Saturday starting in hats.

Early morning I completed a few hours of outside chores. A Sunbody wide brimmed hat was my choice. Warm and humid weather made this hat a great choice.

I dunked the hat in the lake during my lawn chores and turned the sweat inside out when I started some brunch.

A Stetson Panama was my choice for a hat to have brunch on the deck.

A sweaty walk post brunch in the now dry Sunboy hat was pleasant. Hat drying out yet again. It shows no wear or effects from it's earlier efforts. My shirt on the other hand will need changing.

I dunked the sweat and brim in the lake again to hand shape the brim. It takes the shape easily. For those wondering it handles bees without panicking.

Three shirts and three hats so far today.
