Good morning. Foray into the unforeseen dangers of a neighborhood walk had me wearing a vtg. Stetson Sovereign Twenty. This green fedora has a dress weight felt that has a clay-like drape when you touch it to change the crease or dents. No coaxing needed as the felt just yields to your whims.

Wow. Most excellent colors in both the felt and the ribbon. I really love this one Eric. Be safe out there.

Perfect description of the colorway of this beauty. It is truly a unique piece Michael. Love it!

Inspiring images Eric! You blend so well with your surroundings, not camo, but a symbiotic relationship. You da man!
Thanks Mike.

Day 19 of 31 Hat Parade: As a Historian, working at the Archives of Oregon State, I found an image of a famous Beaver coach, Armory "Slats" Gill and had to recreate his iconic look. Another custom hat was developed with Mike Miller at Northwest Hats. The image was from c.1933 and appeared to be a Stetson Playboy style hat. Slats had the brim in a sporty "Hollywood" curl with one side down, and the other up. This hat is unlined, with a period mid width ribbon like the image showed. Being a B&W photo, the color is speculative. One of my favorite tribute hats to Oregon State College of a bygone era.

Always like to see the Slats come out for some sun. Great hat, and story.

Thank you, Michael.

Thanks, Mike. Almost forgot that the Paavo Nurmi one is a Special as well.

Good name for that one!

Unlined, mid-ribbon and great colours. What's not to like? Inspired, Mike.
Thanks Stefan

And as a two hat day special a bit of a mongrel. Chisnall is very much an English brand. The hat was made in Germany however as shown on the label, which is from W+G Schuchart, a wholeseller. The hat could have been made by Wegener as well.
Chisnall Nutria in the colour zomo.

Monster hat, Charlie. And not just because it's an 8.

Is that a Towncraft lid, Michael? Very nice, and should protect from any possible parching (harshing?) of your mellow.
It was sold by a local men's wear store, so probably not Towncraft. The label is totally generic having only the size and a reproduction number.

Thanks all,
Michael

A young man's hat made by Knox and sold in Gimbels department store in NYC. I am feeling like a young man today on what would have been my parent's 74th wedding anniversary.

Simple and elegant. No bells and whistles needed if you get it right without them. Wonderful.

Feeling very “Blue” today in this 1930s Dunderry dark blue

Enjoy your evening gents.
Great shade of blue on that hat, Joe. There's a lot to like aside from the colour as well. Very nice.

This week I will feature Echter Borsalino Hats which were made for the German Market. The hats will be from the late 1920s up to the 1950s.

Echter Borsalino "Caffè", Point 5 1/2, 3 inch brim, very good condition, probably early 1950s. The Caffè Brown Felt has a great finish. Very nice Form and I really like the Bow design.

Splendid hat, Steve. Caffe is a lovely colour. Rare to find one with a larger brim like that. Any idea what the model name should be?

I'm in hiding today under the Boss Raw Edge Clear Nutria with it's new ribbon. Hope everyone is well.

Thanks, Michael. Haven't got a clue about the "zomo" to be honest. Perhaps they leafed through the "Big Borsalino Book of Confounding Collectors".

1950s Knox Twenty while donating blood today. Free Covid antibody test along with it. Interesting.
