It looks like the sweatband is marked “Made in France.” The label also looks older than the US made Flechet hats I’ve seen. I had one of the older hats pass through my hands that was wonderful and now belongs to another Lounge member.

The US made hats are another kettle of fish. They were made by The Bollman Hat Company and ranged from mediocre (at best) to truly awful.
Bwahahahahaa!!! What an idiot I am! I didn’t even notice that. Well.
Mystery solved. For my next caper, I will be revealing the fact that the earth is round!

Thanks for the info, Brent.
I need glasses and as soon as everything opens back up I’m going to get a pair made.

No worries. I recently sent Alan a link to a nice old “homburg” when it was quite obviously a derby. I felt a wee bit foolish. These things are good for the soul.

J. Hückel´s Söhne were famous for Velour Soft Felt Hats but their Stiff Felt Hats were also very popular. This week I will feature J. Hückel´s Söhne Stiff Felt Hats.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Eureka" "Plume", 117 grams, early 1900s. The felt is very dense with a
great smooth finish. The form of this Stiff Felt is really great. The black liner and gold embossing is especially striking. Same with the stylized "Eureka" on the sweatband. Also notice the 1/4 French French Point Size so 5 1/4 would equal 57.5 cm. J. Hückel´s Söhne French Point Sizing was in 1/4 intervals for Stiff Felts and Silk Top Hats.

Had to go to the bank this morning, figured a Homburg "banker's hat" was appropriate. This is a early 1950s Stetson St. Regis. I find that this is a duplicate in my collection, it too will be on the auction block in the next few days. I will offer it to you folks first. Best to keep these within the family!

I finished a walk last evening in a Cordova Cap.

Long trek thru our neighborhoods this morning in a Stetson Playboy.

The bluebirds have started to nest in the field boxes that we cleaned out this past fall.

I started brunch inside, but could not resist the sunny morning and finished outside. A Stetson Open Road got the call for brunch. Some carrot, parsnip, ginger soup was on the menu.

Early afternoon ramble in a Stetson Royal DeLuxe Turf Club. "The hat is part of the man."

This hat hue is Covert Green as per this 1948 Saturday Evening Post advertisement.

Be safe, be strong and see you on the street soon, Eric -
Lovely parade of hats again, Eric.

I’m thinking the herd and this hat didn’t make the cut. I’ve put it up for sale and I’m thinking this will be my last time wearing it.
Agnoulita in Antelope finished brown rabbit:

Looks fine to my eye, Brent, but sometimes it's just not meant to be.

Today....was sitting around eating some hot dogs and looking at some fly rods when i noticed my hat looked pretty good on the pillow i laid it on.
Rods look lonely....hmm
Be well and safe

I have a bit of a soft spot for nutria felt hats. Gorgeous, Bowen.

Some beautiful hats posted lately, as per usual.
