Not a big fan of narrow brims but this is a nice one. I love the job marketing does with the naming of hat models. "Golden Coach" is unusual but evocative.
Thanks! No different than Stetson with all the "Royal" designation.[emoji1]

Actually Dobbs used the Golden Coach designation to market their highest quality fur felt offerings at the time. I don't know if that's the case these days, but back in the period that's what it meant.

First thing to come to mind...

I was once on the highway behind a truck carrying product for "Golden Stream Snack Foods."

I did not run right out and try their products.
We live in an ethnically diverse population with a large Asian %. There are multitudes of really bad translations to English once read would give any English speaker great pause. Your 'Golden Stream' could well be one of them. A brand new restaurant opened up with the name..."The Captain's Boil".....my wife's response was..."don't you dare take me there!"

I just ventured out for the first time in 5 days to finally shovel some snow off the driveway. It is cold (for the west coast) at a few degrees below freezing. Sadly my hat of choice on this Natioinal Hat Dayi is a good ol' Canadian woolen toque. Def not fashionable but highly practical. Perhaps we need a separate thread to highlight the "Toques" in our collections?

Gracias Hector!

Dodge City, even. Did you wear your six-shooters to work? It might freak out your patients, though, Doc.
Nah, left the firepower at home today :D

Very hard like a helmet [emoji858] for protection while riding.

Happy Hat Day to one and all!!

Nice catch, Joe. Worthy of National Hat Day.
Is it grey or black as it looks in the outside photos?

Love the color on this winter morning in Minnesota Perry. The hat pairs well with your glorious shirt and tie.

Sharp outside dudes today Michael.

Vintage Stetson Sovereign Twenty hat adventures today.

Snow blowing walkways and driveways was the task for my green hat this morning. Working hard has the fine snow particles lightly icing on the crown and brim. Inside it warms u and the particles brush off easily without leaving a mark. The vintage hats are durable for my adventures.

Best, Eric -
Thanks Eric. Sweet Stetson.

Based on the liner Alan indicated he thought between WWII and early 50’s

Here is some info he gave related to this type of Derby

An equestrian derby is reinforced for the rigors of riding - a stylish safety helmet/derby hybrid. The laced sweatband was a common feature on this style of derby. This Cavanagh liner was in use post-WWII - early 1950s, after the era of popularity for the derby/bowler and a little before the style would be revived in the late 1950s - 1960s, though Cavanagh was a champion of conservative styling and might have offered a derby well past its fashion prime. My guess leans to a riding hat. You will know when you have it in hand from the weight and hard hat qualities. Look forward to your report..

I can confirm it’s hard hat qualities... no horse here... maybe take it for a bike ride later? [emoji38]

Best,
Joe
