Out enjoying an early morning dog soiree in a midnight blue Cavanagh homburg. The sparse morning light does not accurately showcase the midnight blue felt.

This 50's homburg has a terrific burgundy trim and ribbon treatment.

This outfit was actually from yesterday, didn't get much computer time. We had family in town and took them to see the Albany Carousel We are very proud of this project, it has revitalized the downtown area and is a real destination. Almost embarrassed to show this one, but here goes. Just a $25 cheap Chinese made trench coat. I wanted something double breasted to try out. It will serve me well until a proper vintage one can be obtained in my 46R size. I did wear a bespoke fedora from NW Hats that I call the 1942 Rose Bowl Hat. My first custom from Mike Miller, oh so long ago...seems like anyway.

Today...some question wearing brown and black together. Their loss i say.
A forties jacket with a fifties hat. Or maybe the other way around idk. I do know the Dobbs Forty is a hat of distinction and above reproach in any sense. Finger felt as nice as i’ve seen including some of the most highly sought after felts. Couldn’t ask for more in a hat i say.

That is a gorgeous hat! The felt looks exceptional as does the color. It goes great with the jacket, which looks exceptional also. How could anyone object to brown and black? Just look at some of the get ups that men are wearing now!

Thanks, Hector. Does anyone in the Lounge know how to clean the “rust spots” out of the liners without removing it from the hat?
Many hats have these brownish red blems and I was wondering how they even get there.
