I brought three soft hats on my recent travels in England... a black Boinas Elosegui beret, a bold cap in 19th century homespun cloth from Keith Lo Bue, and an early 20th century cap in a rustic green/brown thatched wool. Need to find a good picture of the third one, but here are the first two. I brought my girls along for the ride. They are better with a cell phone than me. And a young fellow distributing leaflets stopped to take a nice picture of the whole mishpucha.

The Baldini is indeed a very hard felt, not really malleable. I guess the nicer quality felt in the Baldifinos is suggested by the name.

Thanks, Steve. It is a nice rustcolour; reddish brown. This ribbon was the only one really suited for it.

Just as sure as I am that every bit of beaver fur in this hat is clear beaver. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks all for the likes and comments. This is a likable hat. Hard not to like one of these old Stetson's with this sort of finish and feel. The softness and malleability of this one is equal to my Cavanagh 100, which until this one, is the only one of my 7X CB's or 100's that will do this.

Packing to head back home at the moment, so this was actually yesterday's hat (not felt, alas). But, greetings from the top of Haleakala, the larger of the two volcanoes that form Maui. Too many clouds on top to spot @jonesy86 a few islands over.

I understand he has no tan lines to help pick him out from a distance.
Nice ventilated weave there.
