Greetings All:
Today....continuing down the OR style road. I upped the ante $5 over yesterday so it’s a Stetson Twenty Five from the 50s, i guess. The felt is thin, dense and impressively well pounced.
I do like the proportions on this one. A nice model to have in the OR stable.
Be well. Bowen

Depending on your monitor these pics may be too dark. As I was going out to chores to beat the weekend rains coming I was privileged to see a colorful wedge of a sunrise. I just sat there watching & enjoying it until it color faded into daylight. The light entering in from the right is from my pole light. The hat is my open crown Thoroughbred 10X.

Last day of super nice weather for the spring equinox. I love this Champ Featherweight, Kasmir Finish. The 4 fold pug sets off the light weight felt and gives it s spring/early summer look I really like. No satin liner, this one just has a crown "decal," for lack of a better word. Tippet? Not really a sweet satin tippet but uniquely nice nonetheless.

It's just a bit small for me at 7-3/8 (59cm) but a sweet lid, clearly.

Thanks, Charlie. It’s basically an outsized fedora/western. It’s one of the hats I was thinking about during the discussion on formulas for finding the right hat/proportions.

It's going to be different for everyone. I measured the crown height and brim width of all my hats and then took the average. In my case it appears it's a brim width of 6cm and a crown height of 10,5 at the center dent; sounds exactly right to me.

Today....in keeping with the OR style and with recent conversations and comparisons of 100, 7X CB quality differences i’ll throw this one in.
The Sovereign Stetson Open Road Twenty.
As fine a hat as a man could ask and not that far off from the big boys.
Freshly steamed brushed and creased.
Be well. Bowen
I think that would be good enough for any of us, Bowen. Wonderful.

Still new here, but wanted to share some pics with you. I have a few hats made for me, and soon to have another. Most of what I have are newer off the rack hats. This is a new OR in what Stetson calls "natural", that I did a little re-shaping.
(never mind my homemade hat hanger in the background!)

I really like the color. In a world awash in silverbelly, it’s refreshing to see other colors.
