Great look, you need a pipe and a Deerstalker though.
Thanks Perry. I've got a couple of deerstalkers and they might do with the earflaps down. The only pipe I have is a corncob and that just doesn't seem right.

You have another great hat and sweater pairing today.

Eh si, è proprio un cappello da ricordare! Una meraviglia

Here's a Biltmore Western that I converted to a fedora with a tall straight crown. I found a wide vintage black ribbon and put on it. This one started out as a size 6 3/4 and I blocked it up to the 7 1/4 on a 6 inch straight sided block that a fellow Lounger, (Rockwater), made for me. I would say that my favorite era for fedoras would be the 1940s and very early '50s

One of your best conversion. I like color and everything on this hat!

Another cold and blustery morning. Testing out the Dobbs Sixteen Fifty for a trip downtown.

Have a good day,

Michael you really have some great hats and a simply awesome sense of style!!!!! Now you just need to find some hats in 7 1/2 to 7 5/8 and overcoats in 50-52 regular and we could work up some trades for stuff or that federal paper with presidents on it..........:D

My new to me DARK green (a LOT lighter in the photo.....almost black in person....) Borsalino "Continental", mostly Homburg (mostly, because it has the uneven ribbon treatment, narrow under the brim, wide on top) or what ever you want to call it.....Has an awesome dark green liner too!!!!

I love it! The right shade of green makes a wonderful hat.

This hat is really something, Alan. One of only a couple I've seen around with the under brim binding. This one checks the boxes. As unique a Nutria as I've seen.

Thanks... it is an interesting example. Workman quality felt compared to clear nutria but sparing no details in the finishing. It has some moth nibbles but is otherwise as new. This was an eBay auction that many of us were watching - it was scooped up by a keen eyed FL lounge member with an offer before the auction closed. I purchased the hat from him a year or two later.
