Just back from the airport. It is easy to travel in a cap. I got an upgrade to First Class both ways. On the way home the attendant said " a classy cap should travel in First Class." She was 100% correct! I give thanks for the comfort a cap provides - on a plane and off.

Going outside my comfort zone this snowy and chilly a.m. and wearing one of my Stagecoach conversions in my only Center Dent crease. I'm not the biggest fan of Center Dents so I don't wear it much...I may or may not change out the crease down the road some time. As with most of my other conversions, this one also sports a tall straight crown....and I reworked the finish to give the hat a brushed look.

Venturing forth to gather more supplies for the ongoing remodel hell. Took the Stetson Vita Felt "The Avenue" out for a spin in the sunshine today. It sure is an interesting color, almost a mauve in certain light. Still a little snug, wearing it to do some natural stretching. It may need some major refurbishing to deal with the stains on the brim however. Love the felt!

That looks great. I might have to follow your lead on this hat.
Now that's a switch, it is usually me that is following your lead. :) I could have used a leather sweat band, but their "comfortable DriLux sweatband" is pretty comfortable.

What do you think of this one?

The warning about the venting being wavy and uneven concerns me. Haven't owned a shantung yet, and I wonder how it would hold up when the Garden Island is being watered.

I have a few shantung hats and I just don’t like them. Same for the Florentine Milan. That said, the vented crown Open Road hats look good and I’ve almost given one a try.

Last year I was looking at the Stetson twisted Panama Open Road (real Panama) that looked pretty good. My problem is that I tend to be hard on summer hats and I want something the breaths well and can take some hard use. As I don’t expect my summer hats to last indefinitely like I do with felt so I don’t buy nice “straw” hats as I can’t amortize the cost over decades. I do like my two hemp Stratoliners. Have you looked at Peter Bros.? The website was a mess and they are redoing it, but last I checked it didn’t have much but they make some intriguing straw/hemp hats at attractive pricing.

Wake up early this morning in an icy city.
Empty streets, I took my daughter Geneva to the station for her departure, destination Venezia

Difficult to photograph the hat with the first light of the morning

Augusta Borsalino with a felt finished with a medium-length fur

The color is the famous "Amiata" no other information

Late afternoon near sunset, walk around.
The felt takes, finished "luster" takes another light and becomes different from the morning

Buona Domenica
Thanks for the likes on the hairy hats;)

Haven't recovered yet.... soon I hope. Nice leather jacket and hat today.
Thanks D. Seems to take longer to recover as every year goes by.

It sure has been a weird winter so far. Oregon is in somewhat of a drought this year. Love the crease on this OR Michael. You have been hitting it out of the park this week. Although lurking, I have been checking in.
Thanks Red. It's been a bit of an odd winter here too. Started out cold and wet early and then went above average and dry for Dec. Now it's getting a little closer to the average in both.

Love the color that hat is showing in the photos. Great hat.

Good Saturday evening. Keeping with the fuzzy theme, Borsalino melusine tonight.
