Wearing a '50s era Resistol 10 Homburg that a fellow Lounger gave to me. This is an amazing hat and it's all in pristine condition. I always wanted to try a Homburg but when I put it on it was obvious that a Homburg just wasn't me. So I converted it. Nothing was removed from this hat so it was a fairly simple conversion that didn't require a lot of skill other than care and patience, and a brim flange. Notice the decorative stitching near the brim binding. I have more in the conversion corral...

The first fedora I ever owned was a gray Whippet style hat with a black ribbon and matching brim binding that my Grandfather gave to me back in the early '70s. I really liked that hat. I was in High School then and I ended up losing it. So this one is a little special to me.

Looks great, Terry. I would never have guessed it started as a homburg. I’m heading to the Corral now to see the transformation.

Cold weather continues with a 7'f temp during my dog walk this early Sunday morning. Wool cap and wool jacket needed.

Active outside chores this morning found me in a different cap.

A quick trip picking up groceries and meat at the butcher shop had me wearing a VS thin ribbon fedora (dove felt with a charcoal ribbon).

Grilling some fish for brunch in a vintage Stetson Bantam. It has warmed up to 17'f. Cheers!

Stetson Bantam. I might be misremembering, but it was the first vintage hat I was proud of acquiring. At the time, I thought the felt was dreamy. Now that I have better felts the Bantam feels OK, but not superior. So many things in life are about comparison.

Edit: I just noticed Eric wearing a Bantam a couple posts above mine. His is nicer. [emoji2]
