Well, weeks like this don't come around often for me. Two great hats came into my possession within a few days of each other and I get to share them with you. Yesterday was my first outing in a new-to-me vintage Stetsonian, courtesy of Greg. Yesterday, thanks to a hot tip from uber enabler @Bob Hufford, I unwrapped and pulled from an old and slightly beat Disney box, a late 40s/early 50s Imperial Quality Stetson that seems to be the model "Sportsman."

I haven't had this much fun since I dated the Robinson twins!

This one features a felted ribbon, raw edge, and is a substantial felt in a "Suede Finish."

It is clear now that for sometimes I will be a sinner
Sfinge 1.jpg

Borsalino "Qualità Extra Superiore" size 6 1/2 60 centimeters or 7 1/2 US
Sfinge 2.jpg

Color "Sfinge" no indications of the model on the paper label as most of the Borsalino sold in Merano in "M. Hutter" shop
Sfinge 4.jpg

This is the second Borsalino I have in this color. The felt is medium weight, malleable and finished with a "peachy" surface
Sfinge 6.jpg

Contrasting ribbon in brown with some texture, raw brim with a stitch on the edge
Sfinge 7.jpg

In the sun you see the differente shades of this light brown and cream melange.
Thanks for the likes on the "Trionfo"
Buona giornata

Eric,
You and a few others have to have a time machine. I would expect these 50+ year old hats to have more aging if they were locked in a climate controlled storage building and the boxes were never opened. This is but another incredible example of a hat that looks like it was just purchased in 1956 and you walked out of the store wearing it.

Thanks sir. Keep your eyes peeled as these oldsters are around and just suddenly pop out.

I just love the name of this Stetson model. I just cries for a "Press" pass stuck in the ribbon! The Daily Planet!

Truly a blue beauty Alan. I noticed this one this morning on FB. Good to see it again. Love that ribbon!!

Wow oh Wow Bowen! That color is superb, Agata is a new one. The translation is Agate, which is appropriate for this tone. You have a winner, my church ladies would approve, you will have to send it to me so they can see it though.;):D:D

No need to be deflated, these are excellent presentations. That Game Bird is really nice.

That SLS just rules!

Sorry to hear about the disaster. Good that everyone is OK. That hat may pick up a smoky smell if you are not careful.

Nice Fred, good to see your daily hats.

Very casual of you Michael. That porker kind of tops it all off.

I love the ribbon cording on this Champ. Such a great hat.

Very impressive Brent! Are you going to keep it like that or use it for a conversion?
Thanks, Mike. I'm feeling better now:D And it's good to know there's still something to strive for.

I was out this morning in a grey/blue hued vintage Stetson Fifteen (Mode Edge). The felt is soft and malleable -excellent example of how vintage felt can be found more desirable than modern felt.

This hats liner still has the imprint of the Stetson logo, but all the color has since worn or been cleaned away. I hope my pics can showcase the glorious Mode Edge treatment.

Some hats have a presence. This one is in that class.
