Thanks! Could you elaborate more on this? It is always confusing...it has brim binding so not lords, but thin one plus pensil curl, so if not homburg what ?
Good question, Panos. If the brim can snap down, it's not a Homburg. A Homburg is a stiff felt hat. The brim cannot snap down. Not with ease at least.
In your photos, the brim looks softer than a Homburg brim.
Nonetheless, it's still a wonderful hat.

Just to clarify, Panos. Homburgs are "semi-stiff". You can put a crease or pinch in the crown, but you can't snap the brim.
Stiff hats like Bowlers or top hats won't take creases, pinches, nor can the brim be snapped. Hope that makes sense [emoji4]

Thanks Steve! Exactly the reason I think it is a homburg, felt is semi stiff and brim has pensil curl and cannot snap ;) I think the fact that is sitting between both worlds, homburgs and fedoras, adds to it's charm for me.

Super natural look, John [emoji4]. Great straw. You and some of the other good folks on the FL are really opening my yes up for funky shirts. Love that one you're wearing today.

A homburg is a particular style constructed to present with the brim curled upwards, similar to but less defined than the d'orsay curl of the derby/bowler.

Most fedoras can be worn with the brim up all around or snapped down in the front. I am partial to wearing many hats with the brim up - others prefer a downward swoop.

A pencil rolled brim is something else - a tight roll of a raw brim edge, usually seen on a western hat.

Small trip today for the annual car service and this vintage royal stetson homburg came with me. I don't wear homburgs often enough, maybe I should? View attachment 182600
I love grey, all variations, with blue, beige/tan or brown undertones, but the green undertones on this one speak to me ! View attachment 182601

Have a nice Friday,
Panos
That homburg suits you very well mate, compliments!

There are lots of hats that occupy the in between realm. Some meet all the points in the accepted definition, but still just feel and look like something different. I too like those that are a bit odd. Yours is a beautiful hat.

I learned that sophisticated brim line from you Alan, that really is a nice look with the brim up while its line hints downward in front.

Beauty of a hat, Dale. Looks like a Playboy? Seems only proper & all now.
Thanks Jack, and everyone for the likes. The hat's missing the liner and the sweat doesn't identify it as any other than Royal Stetson. It's got a 2 1/2" brim and the crown popped open is about 6". I don't think it's a Playboy. I'm really not much of one these days, either. Takes too much free time and money, both of which are in short supply.
