It's been awhile, so I decided to get the Demon Hanover out of the stables and give it a few laps around the track.

Thanks, Max! Definitely a favorite. As nice as this lid is, imagine what a MacLachlan 100 would be like!!

Your Parabuntal yesterday was a beaut, but completely overshadowed by Mrs. Tejeta and her mighty Milan, if I may say so...
I console myself by thinking maybe some of my other 100s are MacLachlan made.

Coming from a long conversation with a fellow photographer, I found myself wondering how long I didn't show up here

The veiled sun gave me a hand and so here I am in the warm Italian afternoon, with a Borsalino "Sisol" so it is defined on the beautiful sweatband

The hat is very light and almost weightless, with excellent finishes. It was probably built by Tesi in and around Florence, but so be it

I thank Charlie for the call to arms and all the rest of the EU gang for appreciation.
Without Steve (mayserwegener) it is completely useless to think of a convention on European hats, but there is a big problem: his collection is in Baltimore
After these considerations I expand, proposing the topic of discussion: "In Europe there are no beavers";)
I would also add that, as every year, in late spring I invited travelers in Italy to visit Verona, it is absolutely worth it, and with the opportunity to meet for some considerations on the hats, so far I have not had answers...
Daniele, So true! :) By the way fantastic Borsalino Straw today!

The Stetson Fortune and Glory went from open crown to a rough Indy bash in less than 10 seconds. Molds like soft clay. This Excellent quality beaver is thick and lush to the hand. No steam needed. 2 5/8 front and back dimensionally cut to 2 1/2 on the sides. Open crown is just under 6" creased to 4 1/2 in the front. My quick bash is certainly not screen accurate but who cares, I like it.

Carl Kellner Hamburg - J. Hückel´s Söhne "Derby". This hat was modified along the way and arrived (November, 2012) in a Campaign Hat Form so also stiffened. The crown was also extended (see photos below). The original hat was made in the 1930s but not sure when the modifications were preformed although they were well done.

Felt spacer strip stitched to the crown about one inch above the brim line was added after paper label. The ribbon was either reattached or replaced.

Here you can see the remnents of the JHS "Derby" label which is original to the hat.

Here you can clearly see the felt strip strip that was added to heighten the crown.
