He doesn't have pics of the inside, but I read the whole site.
Interesting, and I got to see pics of other hats I had just read about.
Thanks again, Garrett.

He has a very nice collection though he's off on his dating with a few on that site. We wear the same size so he bought a few of my pieces back in 2010 when I liquidated my collection before starting back up in 2011.

So how old were you when you started collecting hats, Garret?

I joined the Fedora Lounge in December of 2006 but had been slowly acquiring local antique mall finds at college in 2001. So roughly 18 years out of the 35 I've been alive. Only a serious hat hunter since my divorce in 2006 - found hat collecting to distract me from those circumstances in a constructive way. At this point I think I've bought and sold the collection a few times. Something always draws me back to it.

Hats at work. As I write this it does remind me an acoustic fingerstyle blues song needs to be written with this theme. Perhaps when the sun starts to tip past the horizon I will be motivated to solve this missing musical need.

A vintage Stetson Playboy (pine green) went to the butcher, liquor, grocery stores this morning. I am grilling some catfish for my dog and I to share. My grilling has me impatiently waiting sipping a stout beer. The hat pairs well with stout. ;)

Our mid 60's f temps have made wearing a felt hat very comfortable this morning.

I am sure that the afternoon will bring different weather and hat choices.

Best, Eric -

Eric, you have the most impressive collection of playboys. The pine green is exquisite!

I've done it twice, so I've lived a lot. [emoji4]

Once was enough for me, thank you! If I live half your life I’ll be satisfied, Max! ;)

What are the pipes? And what tobacco was in them?
Thanks Jeff. The pipe in the first pic is a Boswell Civil War Minie Ball loaded with Greg Pease's Gaslight. I really like the two together. The pipe in the second pic is Eric Paulson's replica of what became known as the Devil Anse as smoked by Kevin Costner as Devil Anse in Hatfield & McCoys. Paulson makes the most accurate replica & I had him add a faux ivory joint ring. The Anse is loaded with Mac Baren's HH Old Dark Fired.

Since it's Father's Day I'll be putting fire to one of my dad's old pipes later today as I think of him & others who came before me.

Worth - Walden 15X Deluxe Westerner at breakfast this morning.

A hat that pristine needs some adventure. A breakfast is a great start Jack. I do like that hat.

I started my morning early in a vintage Stetson Bantam. My dog, Horatio (aka: Tio) and I enjoyed the cool 58'f temps during our walkabout. I was using the windcord in this mornings breeze. I often use the windcords and have gotten used to just looping the cord and pulling it over the crown without taking the hat off when I get out of the reaches of the breeze over the lake. Today, as I suspect other days, I did not secure it snugly until I took off the hat to grab a hat pic. Messy pic was the result.

The local lawn and garden center opened at 7:00am on Father's Day and I went over for some supplies. My Cordova Cap was at the ready for some heavy lifting and carrying.

Got a roll of sausage links hanging & grilling some chicken wings for lunch, so I always wear my Stetson Shantung that has been the hat I wear around my BBQ grills & smokers for the last 15-20 yrs. The wonderful woodsmoke aroma that comes off this hat proves it ain't artificially distressed. It's the real deal!
